  1. Nah, Silvers are the jumpers, Bigheads get the biggest, they're all Asian carp.
  2. You can keep those eternal winters, besides;
  3. He's done a lot of things that nobody should ever do.
  4. I really like them on a Pro Spider Slider head. It's a very finesse bait but it was a killer for me last year, and on some nice quality fish too.

Congrats! Time to change your PB on your profile
  6. I wouldn't put mine on either. The current is terrible on the MO, and there's always big logs floating down the river that are hard to see. The KS is really shallow, hard to navigate in most river boats let alone a bass boat. Tons of sediment in the water in both just eats water impellers too. Add in the fact that your carpet and everything in your boat will be covered with a nice coating of silver carp slime and blood from all those things jumping in the boat.
  7. I used to have some Wobblehead spoons. They worked pretty decent, kind of a finesse Silver Minnow spoon in action and flash. I'd bet my dad still has some because I remember him fishing them quite a bit when I was a kid. As stated, very different from a shakyhead or what is frequently referred to as a wobblehead nowadays.
  8. I think you'll like them both, but the Bat Wingz has been a really good trailer for me.
  9. A lot of folks laughed at the Whopper Plopper too...
  10. I fished the regular SG frogs a bit last year, and you're right that the hooks do need bent for better hookups. Excited to try the popping frog, since that's my preferred type of frog. Had a blowup on the mouse last week in some cattails but it didn't get the bait for me to try to test the hooks out. The frogs I was fishing last year were really durable, which has been a bit of an issue for me with the Pad Crashers, but not enough to get me to stop buying since they're one of my most effective frogs.
  11. Bedding fish is what came to my mind as well. They might just be trying to push it off and away from their bedding area instead of actually trying to eat it. Might try something a little slower moving in the same areas, like a keel weighted swimbait along those same grass lines. A little slower moving bait might not get away from their bed fast enough so they might mouth it to try and hurry it along.
  12. And it's such a shame that they're not being produced anymore. The grub is a great answer. Such a versatile bait that is very effective that has pretty much been relegated to being a trailer and nothing else anymore.
  13. Rage Craw, YUM Christie Craw or Craw Papi for a T rig/swing head Shakyhead it's a Crock-o-Gator Ring Craw
  14. From my trail camera behind our house a couple weeks ago. Not really rare, despite what most folks around here think.
  15. Marinas a touchy. Some don't care, some act like they're guarding a missile silo. That's a huge lake to try to tackle from shore, and not very bank fisherman friendly. I'd be happy to catch anything in that situation.
  16. Usually, plants will help to filter the water out some and actually help clear the water. I agree with the other suggestions that you should it start to clear up as the sediment settles.
  17. Had a bad one in the boat Thursday. Fish were hot and heavy on a swinghead with a creature bait off a point. Guy in the back of the boat cast and had a hit immediately. Problem was, he never engaged his reel. It was a pretty monster blowup inside his reel. He started to try to pick it out, I just grabbed a rod out of the box and handed it to him so he could get back to fishing. There was no saving that one.
  18. I don't have any living rubber skirts, but I could certainly see a cause for concern there. I do have some rolls of living rubber, maybe I'll do a test for science to find out.
  19. Yes, those tiny hooks will hold bass and much larger fish if fought properly, just like a tiny trout fly can land a huge trout if done correctly. Grubs are usually fished with a slow, steady retrieve, or hopped along the bottom. The one with the jig spinner arm is a good panfish bait as well but will catch plenty of bass too. That's one of my favorite baits to toss when I'm out fishing for whatever will bite.
  20. I've kept the Bat Wingz trailer rigged on a silicone skirted jig without any ill effects for weeks on end.
  21. Depending on the size, the grubs can be used for about anything. The 1-2 inch ones are mainly panfish, while the 3-5 inch versions are popular for bass and walleye. The little Rebel Wee Craw is actually a great ultralight bass lure but it catches about everything. You have to fish it on light line (4-6lb), or it won't run right though.
