Is a Tour KVD Crankin' Rod Any Good?
I have a 7' MH/M that I really like.

Spinnerbait/Chatterbait box
Yes, it does work for both of them. Only issue you might run into is some jigs have hooks that are too thick to fit through the slots.

Chatterbait first impression
Good riddance! They don't work anyways!

Trd Ned Rig
What action? Mine are never perfectly straight and I don't have any problems catching fish on them.

Favorite Senko Length and Why?
5" because it's been most productive for size and numbers for me.

PB Wiper
Back in 2005 I set out with a new friend with the goal of catching a hybrid striped bass over 10 pounds. Our first trip, we drifted live shad less than 100 yards when I caught a 9lb 4oz wiper. I thought it was going to take no time to beat that 10 pound mark. Now in 2017, I'd never caught one bigger than that fish, until Thursday. Fishing the same lake with a 127 Slender Pointer when I caught an 11.2lb monster.

Caught a big crappie on a Ned rig my first cast Thursday. Then a new PB wiper on a jerkbait later that day, 11.2 pounds.

What is this?
From what I can find, spotfin shiners rarely grow longer than 2-4 inches, so that pretty much rules that out. That's makes sense though, since what you caught is a golden shiner.

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
Very different lakes with the Dale being stained, mostly mud and clay, and tons of standing timber with largemouth only. Wyco is much deeper, extremely clear, weedy, very little wood, and a mix of largemouth and smallmouth. If I lived closer, I'd absolutely buy the permit, but I know what it is before I go out there. If you've never fished it before, you'll likely be disappointed. There used to be a Wyco thread that was fairly active. I'd suggest looking through there to help with your decision.

Turd sandwich convert
Congrats on the great day! The Ned rig is a blast to fish when it's on. Very simple, low impact fishing but very productive. I also enjoy how it catches a variety of species. Not only did it add 2 fish to my 20lb bag Thursday, but also caught a big crappie, a drum, and hooked a very large fish I never saw before it came off.

Braid vs Fluro
If you're using the same rod for both, I'd go fluoro.

Trd Ned Rig
Best suggestion is not to worry about it. The fish don't care about it being straight.

Spinnerbait/Chatterbait box
Bladed jigs are in a Flambeau Tuff Tainer with Zerust inhibitors. Spinnerbait are hanging on a Cook's Go-to tackle system.

Awesome Start
Nice! About 10 pounds is usually a win during our weeknighters too.

Setup for swimbaits
Agreed. I own one, it'll be perfect for smaller swimbaits you're fishing. You'll need a heavier rod if you decide to go to bigger baits. It says 5oz, but I wouldn't go much over 3oz with it. I've fish a 175 Slide Swimmer on mine, and it's stressing it to fish something that size.

Hammer rods...tell me more
I'm using a 6' 9" H/F micro for bladed jigs as recommended by @smalljaw67 I believe. I was a bit nervous buying a rod with those specs for bladed jigs, but as stated I was assured they run lighter than rated and have a nice parabolic bend to them. The rod has quickly become one of my favorites and it fishes a bladed jig better than any rod I've owned. I will undoubtedly be owning more of their rods in the future. This video is a good example of what I'm talking about. I was fishing one of my bladed jigs 3/8oz and you can see how well the tip loads during the retrieve and transmits the vibrations well. You can also see how well it loads on the fish and isn't a pool cue like I was afraid a 6' 9" H/F rod would be.

True costs of shipping rods
This is what I do. If I can't sell it local, I'll keep it over dealing with hassle of shipping rods. Not only are prices high, but the chances of a rod getting damaged in shipping are higher than I'm willing to accept also. You can sell them for a great price to a local person, and still make more money than you'd make shipping them.
