I did well with the Tennessee Blush Shad color One Knocker a couple days this winter. Got to get some Copper Shiner and Bling, those colors look great!

Trout are the worst. Like trying to hold onto a squirming wet bar of soap. I had a brown bury a jerkbait treble in my finger but I got "lucky" like you did and it flopped again and ripped the hook back out. My dad caught a stocker rainbow on a brand new Megabass a couple years ago that buried the hook right next to and under his fingernail. Apparently those Katsuage hooks are hard to get out even in the ER.

I sat with our dispatch for 4 hours one day, I don't know how you do it. Some of the stuff people dial 911 for just made me shake my head. A woman called because there was a squirrel in her yard and she was afraid it would bite someone. Another called because a raccoon when into the storm drain and she thought that didn't seem normal. A person called because they saw someone driving around getting into people's mailboxes (it was the mailman). It really made me wonder how some people survive the perils of day to day life like walking and breathing at the same time.

Great looking fish. I only had 1 bite on a squarebill Thursday and it felt like a good one, but it decided not to come to the boat. I'm just going to pretend it was a drum so I don't feel so bad.

There's so many variables to that question, it's almost impossible to answer. Locations, body of water, types of bass, types of forage, cover/structure available, weather patterns, the list goes on and on. I can give examples from our lakes in NE KS that are generally stained and shallow. Winter-deeper portions of the lake near sharp dropoffs, often close to where they were last found in the fall. Spring-anywhere in the lake but generally less than 10' deep Summer-same as spring time but will hold in deeper water during extended high temps. Fall-same as spring but will start to move to areas near where they will winter when temps start to drop near 50. I know that's very general, but it's a start.

Loctite gel in the grey and blue bottle is what I use.

The bait isn't going to suspend and it's not going to sit right in the water anymore if you do. Better to just smash down all the barbs so if you get the fish in a bad spot, the hooks can be removed easier. It's just something that's going to happen fishing them because they swipe at them so often. Fish are resilient though, a damaged eye hardly slows them down.

I don't use it much anymore, but when I do it's either Tatsu, Flipping, or Finesse Fluoro from Seaguar. Expensive, yes, but excellent lines that handle so much better than other fluoros I've fished.

Got one of my better backlashes of the year last year on this cast, but I have lots of practice and managed to save the line, the buzzbait was not so lucky.

Nothing real exciting, but a few of the fish I caught at Table Rock at the end of March. Couldn't run the camera hardly at all during the tournament because of the rain.

Just leave the nail in when you paint and bake it. Won't hurt anything and it'll keep the hole clear.

Going to have to put a top on it. I've seen bass jump out of livewells in boats back into the lake, they'll hop out of that no problem. I could see a big snapping turtle finding your fish and trying to climb in and flipping it over, or a snake climbing in there, osprey swooping one of your fish.

This time of year around the spawn you'll see lots of cruisers and fish just up shallow sunning themselves. Those fish are very difficult to catch most of the time and usually not worth targeting. I've had a little success with wacky rigs and flukes when I'm seeing lots of cruising fish.

It's not that thick, it's just a close up picture.

The one I posted is one I poured just for tiny plastics. It's a 2/0 short shank Owner Rig' N hook and a 1/8oz head. I fish the 3" Pit Boss and Baby Rage Craw on them a lot.

Lighter weight, better cast control, less line slap/reduced tangles.

I'd cut myself to the bone if I tried to break fresh Gliss by hand. It's a great line for finesse, open water presentations, but it's far from weak. I landed a 21 1/2 pound flathead with 24lb Gliss in less than 5 minutes fishing a Ned rig, one of my main baits I fish with Gliss. I use the 40lb on the rod I fish Storm swimbaits for wipers on during the winter and I've had fish rub back and forth across a braided metal cable and landed the fish. It's not real abrasion resistant no, but it's not sewing thread either.

I'm getting 20-30 on a TRD but over 50 on a 1/2 Zinker isn't unusual if the zebra mussels don't steal it first. I've been getting better numbers from the TRD with the new Midwest Finesse mold. Seems like the bait stays intact much better when it's rigged on the wire keeper instead of being glued. I imagine that swing head rig would look something like this
