For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
Had our first weeknight deal of the year on Olathe Thursday and it was brutal. 7 boats with only 2 limits caught and 2 boats with zeros. Me and GJM had 1 of the limits, and we WORKED for those 5 bites, which was the only 5 bites we got. The pond was the place to be like I figured it would be. I got our biggest of the night out of there but it had been thoroughly worked over at that point. Got our fish on a jig, wobbler, and a spinnerbait. The bites we got were aggressive, just very few and far between.

Angler killed at Genoa Dam
Current below dams is incredibly powerful and this serves as a very harsh reminder how quickly things can go south on the water.

fishing after storms?
Can't catch them sitting at home.

Anybody Ever Get Caught Without Their License?
Confiscating gear for fishing without a license isn't a punishment, the fishing gear is evidence to a crime just like any other time a crime is committed. It's up to the judge to hand out the punishment they deem fit.

Bass ID
Our spots don't get very big either and they have those bright red eyes pretty often.

anyone use a president baitcaster?
No, they're super easy to setup with the magnetic brakes. I set mine once when I bought them and haven't touched it since. I use them myself but also let new fishermen use them too and they'vebeen great.

Chatterbait, spinnerbaits for searching in spring
Thanks, I've had a matching set of 93SV units on the boat since I bought it a couple years ago. I really like mine.

Head scratcher
I was fishing a really clear strip pit with my BIL who isn't much of a fisherman. Visibility was around 20', so I was fishing light fluoro and a small, natural colored soft plastic. My BIL is fishing a 3/8oz chartreuse Wal-Mart special spinnerbait on a cheap spinning rod and Cajun Red line. He was just wearing me out too. I was just in disbelief watching fish after fish rocket off the bottom to smash that bait that was so bright in the clear water that it looked like it was glowing.

Stolen Fish: Poor Etiquette
I don't know, I'd rather my buddy get a bait back to the fish and get it caught personally. I'll usually even tell them to cast to the spot if I just missed one. Only exception would be if I know it's a large fish that I'd like to catch myself. Even then, I'd rather them catch it than neither of us. It'd be different if we were strangers in other boats or on the shoreline, but I'm about as happy seeing the other person in my boat catching a fish as I am catching it myself.

I own 4 of the new ones, you won't be disappointed.

Chatterbait, spinnerbaits for searching in spring
I fish them slow and steady when the water is cold. They'll eat them just fine.

Favorite umbrella rig?
I like the YUM Yumbrella Flash Mob and Flash Mob Jr.

Reel depressed.
Drove 45 minutes filled with anticipation of hitting a sweet looking kayak spot. Got there, unloaded everything, realized I'd forgotten my PADDLE. Loaded everything back up, went back home, and went to bed.

New PB !!!!!
Congrats to both of you!

Trolling for bass, good or evil?
^This, plus you can get a bait much deeper on a troll than you can a cast. I caught my first 5lb largemouth trolling to my next spot in my 2 man pulling a crankbait that I had been casting. It's very boring to me, but growing up with a dad that loved walleye fishing, I've done a lot of it and probably better at it than a lot of bass guys are.

Thinking of trading my AR for a bass boat, good or bad idea?
I wouldn't trade a nice AR for that boat you posted. I agree that if you're in need of a boat, sell it outright and then shop around. You're going to get more bang for your buck out of aluminum also.
