Skunked again!
No, it's only supposed to be 52 here today and I'm pretty upset about it after it's been 60-70 and even in the 90's the past week.

I put my cat down today
Getting a pet is just putting one of the hardest days of your life on layaway. We know the day we bring them home and still sign up for it because they make our days so much better in their short time with us. Grey tabbies are one of my favorites, even though I don't own cats my sister always had cats when we were kids. They always seemed to have the best temperments and personalities. Sorry for your loss.

Gross, that picture is plain offensive.

Low visibility lure colors?
Normally I like the Colorado or Indiana blades in colder water and Willowleaf when the water gets warmer, but if it's really dirty, I'll stay with the thumping blades even in the warm water to make them easier to find.

Teckel Kicknocker BD “review”
Looks similar size to the Strike King Mega Dawg. I've fished one a good amount and it's a fun bait but not an easy one to fish a lot.

Which Color Deps GiraGira Kougeki 370 Glide Bait For Southern Angler
I'd fish the Aurora Glitter, it looks like a hitch/shad/trout more than the other one looks like a baitfish.

Low visibility lure colors?
Black and blue jigs, black and blue with a black blade bladed jigs. If the water is green like you're saying, that's when sapphire blue really shines for me here. White spinnerbaits with an orange kicker blade and gold or copper main blade is good one too. Junebug or any kind of purple plastic seems to usually work well in that dark water.

Latest Catch Pics Thread
Took the boys out Saturday and caught a bunch of nice fish, just no bigs like I was hoping. It was really a weird day in retrospect. Very warm and calm with water temps in the high 50's to to 60. The kind of day I would have expected them to be flooding the bank, but the only very productive technique for me was to find them offshore, chasing shad. They were very cooperative when I'd find one or two of them roaming, probably 75% of the fish I was casting at were biting. I even got Lake to get his first fish off Livescope.

I think we skipped spring.
That's wild because they're in the mid to high 50's here. If skipping spring means we can skip the crappie spawn idiots, I'm all for it.

Those actually are silicone skirts but I do tie some of my big spinnerbaits with rubber skirts. I like the rubber because it billows out so much and gives a really big profile on the big spinnerbaits but it also rots and sticks together really bad if you're not careful.

Does anyone else do this to bladed jigs?
I'll put a big paddletail on the back of mine, like a 5.8 Fat Impact, when they're eating big gizzard shad. I use to use 2/3 of a 5" stick worm a lot or the same of a trick worm, I didn't use the whole thing though. The main reason was it seems like the trailer tears way faster if it's too long.

Thanks, I don't even own a standard sized spinnerbait mold but I modified another mold to pour spinnerbaits with and it works really well.

High priced baits
@Swamp Girl toothy fish love those expensive baits and 30lb braid is nothing for their teeth.

What baits have quit producing for you?
Crankbaits I use to catch fish on all types of cranks, one of my top producing type of baits. Then it was just squarebills. Now the last couple years I can't even hardly get bit on squarebills.

High priced baits
You tell yourself that, until you cast it off into that open water and it sinks into all that nothingness and you have nothing to help mark the spot in went down at to try and recover it. My first expensive glide I cast off was into open water over an off limits area cable so I couldn't even try to go get it.

How Much Wind Is Too Much?
I've dealt with more than too much on more occasions than I'd rather. I'm really confident in my abilities and my kayaks abilities. I quickly realized yesterday, my tolerances are much lower when my kids are involved. As soon as it started gusting around 25 and I saw the little white caps forming, I immediately made the call for us to get back to the ramp and I'm glad I did. I know what I can do and handle, but I don't want to put my kids in that situation and I'm not sure what the little Hobie my oldest son is in can handle.

Busy weekend of fishing this weekend finally. My buddy was fishing in the Bassmaster Kayak Classic. Day 1 went pretty well for him and he was within striking distance of the money, but the cold front wrecked his bite on day 2. He did win one of the hourly big bass prizes on one of my baits. Saturday I went in search of big fish. I'm doing the monthly and year long big bass challenges for my bass club and while I doubt I can keep up with the guys that live close to better big bass waters and fish way more than I do, it's fun trying. I put together a pretty solid bag for March and got a 20.25" fish to go towards my yearly bag. They were eating a little bit of everything but a jerkbait did most of the damage including the biggest one. Also caught contributions to my biggest 5 on a homemade spinnerbait, Clutch Baby Boss, and Berkley Shallow Money Badger. My buddy was out there and also catching some good ones of his own. This one ate a Ned rig off a shallow stump. Sunday I took my kids out in the kayaks hoping to beat the wind. We got about 45 minutes before it switched directions and we had to hustle back to the ramp. They both got back on the board for 26' though, Lake even outfished me. I got a picture of one of his but Finn's fish flopped back in the water before I got a picture of it. It was 63* while we were on the water 24 hours ago, it's 13* with a wind chill of -8 with snow on the ground now 😫

best Square bill crankbait
My favorite without a doubt is the Black Canoe Balsa in River Shad. Not a cheap bait, but they're all hand crafted in his garage out of balsa and the big fish love them. It's one of the only cranks I enjoy fishing.

Been on a serious spinnerbait kick lately. Seems to usually happen this time of year. They paid off for me immediately.

Seaguar Pounce Leader
Pounce is the more abrasion resistant, tougher of the two. Gold Label is the better option when you’re in more open water, finesse situations.
