  1. I'm a Curado guy because it fits in my hands better and I like the handle better. That's about what it comes down to once you get about the $150 range with reels, which feels better to you, sits nicest on the rod you're using, suits your needs the best, ect. You can't go wrong with either when it comes to performance though.
  2. Nice fish! You should try something like a 68 special Hudd with a slow ROF so you can crank it super slow. I like the weedless version so I don't have to worry about snags as much. As long as there's open water you should be able to catch them on that.
  3. I have one of the older Mojo cranking rods and like it very well, one of the best cranking rods I've owned.
  4. Sounds like you have a pretty good idea of what you'd like to start out with. The Strike King lineup is pretty hard to go wrong with. I've been having good success with the Berkley Wild Thang 8.5 these past few weeks in the Vintage Craw color. I think you'll be happy with them as well. The Pit Bull looks good in the water but I haven't had much of a chance to test it out yet.
  5. Fishing Christmas and New Year's Day use to be a tradition for me but getting married kind of put a damper on that tradition.
  6. I imagine that kid trying to drink being like in the older cartoons when I was growing up when a skeleton would drink or eat something and it just fell out of his stomach, only in his case, it just falls out the holes in his head.
  7. Saw that post on FB earlier today, that's pretty incredible!
  8. My preferred method of grass carp fishing as well.
  9. They like cherry tomatoes and cattail stems. They're very spooky and line shy so you almost have to hunt them too.
  10. I haven't seen one yet but Mads post updates on his Facebook pretty frequently about the baits progress.
  11. Never had much luck with Norman's. Haven't found a Bandit that didn't work though, the 300 is no exception to that.
  12. Coty and I did pretty good at Wolf Creek today, video and pictures to follow.
  13. Here's a picture with the hook location options on the 5".
  14. Can't remember but I know there's a 5" and a 6". The 6" is going to be a line through even.
  15. JJ's and it's not even close.
  16. It's been a work in progress for awhile now. Probably be some things to iron out here or there but it should be more user friendly now is my understanding.
  17. They make special dye just for Elastec plastics. JJ's is absolutely worth it and so is Zman baits.
  18. Savage Gear is coming out with an awesome looking new soft gill. I have had the best luck with the Deps Bullshooter.
  19. I use silver in NE Kansas. Also have amber for cloudy days.
  20. If the fish are on the bottom and there aren't too many leaves it can be very good.
  21. Nope, but that's my favorite color of Swing Impact!
  22. The new Berkley Wild Thang 8.5 in Vintage Craw has been doing very well for me the past couple weeks.
  23. Couple of my favorite Scatter Rap pictures from the first time I used the thing. They were schooling on shad off a point at Beaver Lake, AR. Threw all kinds of baits at them and other than an A-rig or small swimbait, the Scatter Rap was the only bait and the only crankbait they'd touch.
