  1. Nothing like a good wiper bite!
  2. The Structure bug is a beast on a bladed jig! The amount of action is almost hypnotic
  3. If you did it with a brand new one and it didn't work you wouldn't be out much. I'd think the problem would be getting a super thin saw blade to cut it without removing too much material, but it would probably be worth a shot. You could add some extra lead shot to get that dull rattle the old warts have and give them the slower rise.
  4. The drama is played up a little, but then again if everytime I hooked a fish it could be worth 10K it would be pretty dramatic to me. I watch it sometimes, better than a lot of shows on TV anymore.
  5. When my wife finds the box for a 250 in the garage I'm blaming you!
  6. I've had Brad's Wigglers, they swim like the new wiggle warts. Until someone starts making two halves and gluing them together, there isn't going to be another bait like the old warts.
  7. A lot of those inline spinners look like the cheap South Bend spinners.
  8. I don't remember, I was kind of young when I started fishing.
  9. If you can find a Supreme XT in that price range, buy it. If not I'm hard pressed to justify buying anything other than a President and saving my the rest of the money I could have spent for baits or line.
  10. Be careful adding ice. A lot of times it has chlorine in it that can kill the fish in heavier concentrations. I like to freeze gallon milk jugs and just put those in the livewell so they're kept cool but none of the ice water gets into my livewell water.
  11. A belated welcome to you sir!
  12. Welcome!
  13. A belated welcome!
  14. That is very true. It's the same way in Kansas, you could catch 10 keeper sized walleye (twice the day bag limit), the first two days of the year and until you consume or do something with those fish you are not allowed to posses another one, which would include just putting a fish in the livewell. We do not condone any illegal activity, but I wasn't able to find anything on Ohio DNR's website that having 64 walleye in the freezer is anything illegal. I'm sure Capt. Bob is aware of his states possession limits, but it never hurts to refresh and review your states regulations as they change often. It is sad how many fishermen hit the water without knowing their states regulations that are generally put into place for their own good/benefit.
  15. Time is money to a tournament angler.
  16. 1/4oz bullet jighead is a killer way to catch anything that eats other fish.
  17. Exactly what you said, reduce digging it. It just handles better on a baitcaster IMO. You can fish 30lb without a doubt, but I prefer the larger diameter line.
  18. I have several finesse rods and reels. 6' 6" M/F Vendetta/President 20lb braid/10lb fluoro leader-keitechs/wacky rig 7' 3" ML/F Ethos/President 5lb Maxima-DS 6' 10" ML/XF LTB/Supreme XT 10lb braid/8lb leader-Ned Rig/grubs 6' 10" M/F LTB/Stradic CI4 10lb braid/10lb leader-shakyheads
  19. Spots for sure but most of our lakes are devoid of them.
  20. I've caught them at night while it was snowing and part of the lake was frozen, I wouldn't suggest it, but it can be done. After the spawn is about when I start thinking about going.
  21. Fish eat lots of things that don't look like food. I've never seen a bubble gum colored minnow, but I'll bet a lot of guys wouldn't be caught dead without some bubble gum colored flukes. Chartreuse black back was/is the hot color for squarebills, never seen a chartreuse baitfish either. I've never really thought about it, but I try not to complicate it more than it needs to be.
  22. I just got several packs in the mail Electric shad was what they liked last time.
  23. I have an empty seat in the morning if anyone is interested.
