  2. Does your complex have a camera that records and saves? Maybe you can show that you stored it and hadn't retrieved it before the incident occurred. Then you might have a chance of them being liable for replacement.
  3. Any fluke style soft plastic will produce similar results when rigged similarly. A nose hooked fluke or power minnow on a dropshot is very effective. Berkley makes the Champ Jerkbait that is fairly similar. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Berkley_Powerbait_The_Champ_Jerk_Minnow_34_6pk/descpage-PBCM.html
  4. I caught a 22" fish last fall that was just a shad shy of 7, but it was much thicker than that fish appears to be. I'd say the guesses around 5.5-6 are probably pretty close.
  5. Catfish are predators just like bass. I catch lots of catfish while bass fishing and it's a pretty unusual day that I don't catch a catfish while fishing for bass.
  6. I just fish them on a jighead, just like a Ned rig. A bigger one could be used on a light T rig though.
  7. I use solid black and solid white bodies, 3/8, 1/2, and 3/4oz.
  8. One of my many annual training days today. Never look forward to them but the long lunch breaks are always appreciated when the weather is nice.
  9. My wife loves driving the zero turn, which just leaves the weed-eater to me, which I hate.
  10. I really like my LTBs, not sure how many I have but it's around 8-10. Very nice rods, some of my favorite rods I've fished with. I haven't fished that model rod in the LTB, but I have it in the Victory and like it really well. I don't think you could go wrong with either. Whether it would be worth spending the extra is kind of something you'd have to determine. For me, it would be a yes.
  11. Tie a cord to them that you can hook to your boat or something so if you lose your grip when they thrash you don't send a fish swimming off with a pair of grippers attached to their face.
  12. I had more success fishing crankbaits back when I fished out of a 2 man with no electronics than I do now in my boat or kayak that both have electronics. I use to just find rocks or riprap and start cranking, I'd find bass eventually.

I like the #2 or #3 size for multi-species fishing. It's one of my go to baits when I take my boys creek fishing because I can catch green sunfish or a 10lb wiper on one.
  14. It's a knockoff bait. Nothing wrong with it, but you can buy that blank and paint it or get a heat shrink wrap for it like it looks like might have been done with that one.
  15. When I say I'm dragging a bait, I'm fishing much slower than I am if I'm slow swimming one. Dragging a worm is jig is something I also refer to as "counting rocks". I'm trying to move it slow enough to feel every rock on the bottom.

  18. The red/white/blues from last year were pretty roughed up, had to get a fresh pair and something about some bright colored Crocs that make other fishermen uncomfortable ?
  19. So what's the weight difference if I remove the factory split ring and add a snap instead?
  20. Had my second kayak tournament of the year this past weekend at Perry Lake in Kansas. Friday I prefished and found some decent fish but the only bigger fish I found were 2 random smallmouth I didn't have any confidence in finding again the next day. Lots of 12-14 inch largemouth on a squarebill or split-shot rig so I at least was catching fish. My fishing buddy from Friday. Saturday the weather was completely different with strong wind and sun. Friday I'd been getting very steady bites, Saturday they were very few and far between. I started where I caught the 2 nice smallmouth and managed 1 dink smallmouth of 12.5" and a 14" largemouth in 3 hours before I pulled the plugh and went to my crankbait spot. I had hoped the lack of shoreline access and brush would keep the crappie fishermen away but no luck there. I was cut off within a short pitch, over and over again, very frustrating. Thankfully I caught a nice 15" fish one of my first cast. I felt better needing only 2 more bites to get a limit. I was almost all the way to the end of the bank before I finally got another bite almost at the end of the bank from another small largemouth. I fished back up the bank, afraid I may not get a limit for the second tournament in a row with less than 2 hours left. I was nearing the end of the bank trying to decide what to do when I finally got number 5. A few cast later, I got a small cull. I decided to pedal into the wind and get to the marina and hope for a big bite in the last 45 minutes. Using a split shot rigged mid-sided Rage Bug, I caught 7 fish and culled 4 times in 30 minutes, enough to finish in 5th out of 49 anglers. I was happy with my finish on a day only 13 anglers caught limits, I was 1 big bite away from being right there. This morning I had 15 minutes after dropping my son off at school and before work. Had this chunk inhale a black and blue bladed jig.
  21. My 8 year old uses a Shimano Citica on a 6' M/F Berkley Lightning rod. Not the fanciest setup but it's a good learner rig for him.

  24. I've got a bag of KO Dark Sleepers you can have.
