  1. Lake is not quite 14 months old but really seems to know what he's doing at times, better than I can do I promise that. This is one of his better performances, the touch on the cymbal at the end cracks me up every time.
  2. Nope, but I still have several I keep just for bank fishing and fishing for white bass and wipers so I don't have to fish my expensive baits in those situations. I bought a bunch when they went on clearance for $.99 several years ago.
  3. The Living Image lineup is great. Fishing skirts is where I order all my skirts for making my jigs and bladed jigs.
  4. I sweat all night long night fishing in Kansas. We get the best of both worlds, sub zero temps in the winter, and triple digits with near 100% humidity in the summer time. Plenty of nights I'm out it never drops below 90 with so much humidity that everything in the boat is soaked by morning.
  5. Got to love having a 1 year old. Get either of these stuck in your head and it's game over for the rest of the day.
  6. They fixed the split ring issue, but the hooks are still very fragile. I fish them on my regular jerkbait rod with 10lb Big Game (very stretchy), with Owner ST 36's, same sizes that smalljaw recommended. They're one of my favorite jerkbaits and I have no problems with bending hooks once I swap them for the Owners.
  7. Topics have been merged.
  8. I was 16 when I first joined a club and was concerned about being treated differently but I found a good club and was welcomed with open arms. Be courteous, be polite, don't be afraid to ask questions, pay attention, offer to help where you can, and have fun. I learned a ton fishing in a club and would recommend anyone that is interested to give it a try.
  9. They both confuse me some days, and some days I feel like I could go pro. Both offer their own unique challenges though.
  10. I'm gonna guess you've never worked midnights? I work midnight to 8am Sunday-Thursday. I've been working out enough and eating well enough to have lost 35 pounds in the last 3 months. I'm still exhausted most every night, especially right before work, and at about 0400. Sometimes, even with an energy drink it's all I can do to stay awake. I stick to the Monster Rehabs and Ultras, I don't have the buzz or crash that goes with regular strength energy drinks. At least there's a few good things in them, like B vitamins, pop is complete garbage in a can that offers nothing but empty calories. I like it when someone sees me drinking one and tells me it's going to kill me, while they're smoking a cigarette I only drink a couple of them a week on the really bad nights though.
  11. Even the pros blank some days. If there was a surefire way to go catch a limit it would take a lot of fun out of it.
  12. I used to fish them a lot in cold water, not so much anymore. I do like the beefed up version like the Fish Head Spins with a fluke on the back.
  13. What is it that has you worried? Find a good club and everyone will treat you like they've known you all their life. The clubs that treat new guys like outsiders tend to die off because they can't keep new members.
  14. Hmm, claiming someone is stupid just because they own rods for one thing?? I'd have a heck of a time flipping weeds with my cranking rod, or lobbing an A rig/swimbait with my jerkbait rod. If you can get by with 1 rod for everything, good for you, but I hardly think it makes someone "stupid" just because they own specialized setups.
  15. Zoom swimming flukes or swing impacts.
  16. I can talk to Chris if you want. He has an airbrush and everything to go with it that he's never figured out how to use, if you're interested anyways.
  17. I had $300 in giftcards I'd been saving for awhile. I blew it all on stuff for my boat last week. Don't go there often anymore unless I have giftcards or I just need something one of the small shops doesn't have and before I can get it shipped to my house.
  18. The 6' 9" MH/F is an awesome swim jig rod. I've been impressed with all their rods that I've owned, great rods for the money. I pretty much bought the rod just to learn how to fish swim jigs and it's had braid on it the entire time and has even down some flipping water willows and it's held up just fine.
  19. Probably not. I need to make a change to the schedule and the rules, but that's the good thing about planning this far in advance, we can figure out possible issues and make the changes needed.
  20. Do you have a preferred brand to go with? I think you're headed in the right direction spending the majority on the T rig rod.
  21. Wouldn't fish it if I didn't like it. Although I've recently began experimenting with Sunline Defier Armilo and have been thoroughly impressed thus far. Quite a bit more expensive, but wow is it nice to fish with.
  22. Could have stopped right there . He's your buddy right? ask him and I'm sure he'll tell you. Personally, I didn't buy a bigger boat so I could fish shoulder to shoulder with someone. If the situation dictates, that's different, but most of the time there's no real reason to stand next to each other anyways.
  23. Heard of it happening, never seen it though. That's pretty crazy!
  24. Bladed jig and spinnerbait are both fished on a 6' 6" MH/F LTB with a 6.4:1 Lew's Speed Spool with 15lb Big Game. Swim jigs are fishes on a 6' 9" MH/F Ethos with a E7 Curado and 50lb Sufix.
