  1. Three threads, but only use 2 on the first wrap. Then 2 on the second, but one is a waste, one thread on the second wrap is removed. Wrap 2 threads side by side, along the distance you want to wrap. Use contrasting colors for better affect. You need to use a burnishing tool to burnish the first 2 threads. Start in the center and burnish up the rod tip then from center back to the grip. Coat the first threads with epoxy. Let dry for around 24 hours. Now the second wrap is wrapped in the opposite direction of the first one. Wrap 2 threads. After you tie off your thread. Remove one of the threads. Now apply a second coat of epoxy. You'll start to see the tiger pattern as you remove the second thread on the second wrap.
  2. Buck knives SPLIZZORS look really interesting, blades can be replaced. I don't know about rusting though, I just thought it looked usefull.
  3. For me its casting distance. 3/8 is my favorite and I'll throw 1/4 sometimes but it just seems with 3/8 I have better control on where the cast ends up.
  4. I just purchased a Brand new in the box Tatula 100hs $90.00 shipped.
  5. (FWIW, my choice for flouro gets it's fair share of poor reviews but I find it to be an excellent line...Reviews don't always tell the whole story) I would think most reviewers use there line for more than 24hrs of fishing, and therefore have a different perspective of the line than someone changing it out after each use. Maybe its just me, but if I had no more confidence in a line that I felt I had to change so often I wouldn't use it.
  6. Do a search on Youtube, I think there are several that show how to do a cross pattern.
  7. The Weaving loom is around 45.00 on Mudhole. In the next few weeks, I think I'll bite the bullet and give it a try.
  8. Power Pro 50lb. 12lb Mono Equiv.
  9. I can't imagine using a line that I felt like I had to change after every tournament.
  10. Your trying to make an argument for Made In China!! To the OP. The JUNK made in china that sells for $30.00 with 10BB is Just that Junk. Your better of buying a better quality reel be it Shimano, Lews, Daiwa, Quantum which may be full of china parts, but are better reels.
  11. I don't think its so much of a made in china thing. Rather a Made in china $30.00 10BB Reels. You get what you pay for.
  12. I think the guy who purchased one of these came on and admitted he didn't like at all after using it. I couldn't find the post. Just don't let the bearing count on reels sway you one way or another. To me anything other than bearings that have to do with the spool, which I think most of the times is only 3. The rest of the bearings are just extra weight. So don't be impressed with 10BB reels.
  13. just use 50lb power pro. Your done end of story.
  14. I think I would use Power Pro Braid......OOPS!!!!!! wrong thread.
  15. If I cant post this please delete. Click Here
  16. I kind of disagree with buying a cheap blank for first build. Why not get a good blank something your going to use, practice wrapping just don't epoxy it in. When you like what you see wrap it epoxy it and fish it.
  17. 50lb power pro. Adjust the Brakes. Sell it and get a Tatula.
  18. Maybe some razor blades to cut your thread, Pop sicle sticks to spread the glue. List looks pretty good to me.
  19. You rig them backwards. When you let it fall slack it will swim away from you.
