  1. I too live in a small town, nearest place to purchase tackle is about an hour away. I guess my first question is are you going to be able to buy your tackle/lures at a price to offer your customers good pricing? We have had a couple of small tackle shops open and close pretty quick. There prices were so high that with the internet availability you could order and even with shipping it was cheaper to purchase online. I didn't mind the pricing so much as I did the assortment of inventory they carried. IMO it would take a substantial amount of money to stock what everyone wants. Good Luck, I hope you can open and be successful in whatever you do.
  2. What he said. I have Power Pro on all my reels. I haven't re-spooled in 2-3 years. Before you invest in anymore braid, you need to find out what your doing wrong.
  3. Ignorance is just another word for not knowing. IMO Mustard is best on turkey. It got me thinking what other people use.
  4. Just curious do you like Mustard or Mayonaise on your turkey.
  5. What he said, I never could get used to stopping lures where I wanted them to stop. With a BC I just stop it with my thumb.
  6. Thanks guys, I'm leaning the Tatula 100 way.
  7. Went back out today and on a wind blown back the smell was unreal. I saw about 10 big carp at quite a few crappie floating all in a pile on the bank. I didn't see any bass but I fished from 7 to 12 and never got a bite.
  8. I'm going to purchase another reel, I recently purchase one of the T3 Ballistic from TW. For $109.00 I can get a Tatula regular not the R for $103.00. Is the tatula just as good? Is it as smooth as the Ballistic? or should I just get another Ballistic. I would like to try the Tatula but if the Ballistic is a better reel may as well just get another one.
  9. Boomerang, The best thing I have found by far.
  10. I love Mcdonalds. Nobody on this forum would say that the PQ was a good buy unless they had or still use one, There are plenty of people that would give an honest opinion. Everything I have read on here and BPS gives it a good rating. Think About it.
  11. Thats my thought WRB, I haven't been back out since they treated. I just hope there aren't alot more fish floating. I watched these guys treating the water, if there was someone fishing in a boat along the bank they would just turn around and retreat where the boats weren't. I don't think these guys had a clue what they were doing, I'm also thinking carp are hard to kill, IMO the bass are more sensitive. We'll see when I get back out tomorrow and see whats floating. The fish that were floating were killed no less than 20 minutes after the treatment.
  12. Here is the real truth regarding spinning v. baitcasting: Most of us will tell you why we use one or the other, and don't really care what you use. It's all good. What He said.. No disrespect to the original OP, It just always seems that it turns into an argument over who is right and who is wrong. For some reason, with a spinning outfit I cast with my right hand and reel with my left. Baitcaster I cast with my right hand pass the rod to my left and reel with my right hand. I am right handed and throwing a baitcaster just seems more natural to me. I use both there is no right or wrong!! And again no disrespect meant to anybody.
  13. I think when you use baitcasters you just look "Cooler", Like fishing from a bass boat VS. A Pond Prowler. The main thing is to look good doing it, what ever your doing. LOL
  14. Yea i don't think they would put something in there that would intentionally kill the fish, It had to be some kind of treatment for the water. I just hope it doesn't bother the bass.
  15. So I went out the past 2 days and fished my new T3 Ballastic, all I can say is that its the best reel that I have ever owned. This thing is super smooth, fits good in my palm and casts like a champ. I wish in a way I hadn't got it because it makes me want another and lets me know how bad my other reels are, hopefully I can save up the money pretty quick and get another one. I can't think of anything negative to say other than the handle seemed a little small. For what you get, and how mine performed and for $109.00, I can't believe they are not sold out.
  16. I can see it now, They will soon be selling pre-treated Flouro.
  17. I was fishing today at my usual pond, its only about 70 acres. Anyway the city owns it and they use it for drinking water. Two guys came out today and were in a boat going around the edge of the lake dumping bags of Chemicals? in the water, it made the water turn an aqua blue looking color. About an hour after they left I noticed Shad floating dead on top of the water and also saw a huge Carp floating near the bank. I left soon after that, I wonder what the heck they would put in the lake that would kill Fish? I just hope the bass all survive.
  18. Very nice fish, But that last picture of you walking on water is pretty impressive too.
  19. The only regret I had was buying a smaller trolling motor in the beginning. I have a minn kota 55 now and I really like the extra speed I get. Being 6-4 You probably wont have any trouble reaching the motor, if you do you can buy an extension.
  20. Trolling Motor? Go for the Biggest you can afford. I am fishing a 55 Minn Kota on a Pond Prowler, Love it. It gets me around at 4 to 5 MPH. The lake I fish only allows Electric.
  21. IMO, A jig is only half of the equation, the other half is the Plastic used to mimic either a Bait fish or Craw.
  22. If flourocarbon doesn't absorb liquids, What good is line conditioner? Braid For Everything!! All Day Every Day.
  23. Thanks guys, I should have mine by monday. I'll fish it Wednesday and Thursday. I have never owned a reel that "Retailed for this much money" I got the 7:1 I'm hoping to use it for Spinner Baits. I'll let you know how it does.
