  1. No, it's not a credit card, just tracks and gives you BPS dollars based on what you spend. I signed up for one yesterday, did it in person, after feeding the bait monkey.
  2. That's great, YB... the ideas young minds come up with never cease to amaze me!
  3. LBH, I've been in the customer service business for a medical device/products manufacturer for about 11 years, the last 6 as a supervisor, and you are 100% right... you should not, ever, be treated that way. Our experience is that it takes months, and sometimes years to gain the trust of a customer, but it takes almost no time at all to lose them. As a customer service rep myself years ago we were never allowed to say things like "I don't know", or "I/we can't help you", or anything along those lines. This holds true today. If you don't have the answer the plan is simple: get as much information from the customer as possible, do all you can to find someone, anyone, who has the answer, and call the customer back. It's not rocket science, it's common sense and always keeping the one person who matters most to any business, the customer, at the forefront of what you do. My recommendation would be to type up a letter, outlining what has happened to you just as you did on your post. Keep it factual and polite, but let them know how disatisfied you are. Then, send it to a management-level customer service person. If you can't find the name of someone, address it to "Manager - Customer Service" or "Director - Customer Service". Management needs to know, and if they're worth anything, they want to know when these types of things happen. I know I sure would. Good luck! TC

This is off topic but I'm curious, how do you put a photo in your signature line? I've tried copy/past, it didn't work... for me. Thanks, TC
  5. I suppose I wasn't aware of how much the "average joe" fisherman could help out in this area. You're doing something you love and at the same time advancing the cause... I think that's great!
  6. Just curious, why do you want to tag fish? I understand why conservationists or fisheries biologists might do it, but... Thanks, TC
  7. ...And I've been taping Angling Edge off OLN for about two weeks now, and will continue to do so until I have built my own library of Al's tips. Hey, $7 worth of blank tapes beats buying them outright. TC
  8. Hey Yankee, I have DirecTV and they're on OLN at 4:00 am Central during the week. I started taping their shows a couple weeks ago and think they're very good, really getting a lot out of each show. TC
  9. Dude, I'm with you. A job, wife, two small children and the distance between my home and the water all equal what many have said..... NOT ENOUGH!!! TC
  10. I just started taping/watching Angling Edge a couple weeks ago and have really enjoyed their shows, and picked up tips that were helpful to me. They seem to focus more on the whats, hows, whys and whens than some other shows, some of which tend to show too much of the host or guest fishing. TC
  11. I'd say 1 or 2, having seen some of these guys on TV and reading some of their stuff, you're still going to pick up good tips. Plus, you're not out as much dough! BASS U. is coming to St. Louis, where I live, and the presenters are Jimmy Houston, Larry Nixon, George Cochran, Gary Klein and Davy Hite. I really want to go, but the weekend is Feb. 4 & 5, which is not a good weekend for me. > TC
  12. Does the thermometor have to be a certain depth to get an accurate reading? TC
  13. Welcome... this place is a wealth of information. Enjoy! TC
  14. Yes, the link is: http://bassresearch.com/ Also, reading their FAQ's it says this is only for largemouth, and will not work for smallmouth because the SM behave and react differently to their environment. That's sort of a bummer! TC
  15. This post is almost a year old, but after stumbling across the Bass Fishing Matrix I found this short thread already existed and thought I would re-kindle the question. Any opinions on this? Who owns one and thinks it's a worth the $30... or not worth it? Like abelfisher I am a lesser experienced fisherman and always looking for things that will help me improve. Thanks, TC
  16. Since this post came out I've taped several episodes of Lindner's Anglers Edge (it's on at 4:00am here) and I've liked what I've seen thus far. Also taped/watched one of Fishermans University, thought it was just OK. And taped Classic Patterns this morning after leaving for work, will check that one out tonight. All are on OLN. TC

The way I'm reading the article is seems like Mr. Johnson is saying "a limit of two-pounders per day", or every time out. If so, for a three day tourney, that would be 30 lbs., a four day tourney... I've never fished a tournament, so this isn't from experience, just my interpretation. TC
  18. Thanks Shad, I found it (www.maout.com)... select Mid America Fishing Scene, then Missouri Lakes, and so on...
  19. Raul, excellent post. Where can a guy get similar information on other lakes? For example, I'm going on a fishing trip to Table Rock the first week in May and it would be helpful to know what type forage the bass are most likely to be feeding on. Thanks, TC
  20. Just curious, I joined B.A.S.S. last year, paid $15, got the magazine, etc. Should I also consider joining my state's Federation, MO BASS? Should I stick solely with my state's Federation when it's time to renew my B.A.S.S. membership? Or do I need to belong to both? Thanks, TC
  21. RW, that sounds like great advice, I will definitely heed it when I get back onto those ponds. Thinking back to my trips last year I realized that I limited myself to only certain parts of the pond. While it's not that big, I've probably only fished about 50% of the bank. This will change in the coming months! As for the fish, I don't know when, how or who stocked them, but I do know they hold fish, at least up to 4 lbs and only LM, as far as I know. Thanks, TC
  22. Thanks all for your input. This gives me a good baseline to start with. TC
  23. Does anyone know when Angler's Edge typically airs, and on what station? I have DirectTV. Thanks, TC
  24. Appreciate input/tips on counting down to depth. I don't have a boat and do most of my fishing from the bank. The boat I do use occasionally doesn't have any electronics. Is there one, general rule for counting to find your depth? Do concessions need to be made for lure weight and/or line? Or water temperature? Thanks, TC.
