Favorite Beer
Took the words right off of my keyboard Uncle Leo... Chimay is like silk. In the end, though, I like so many beers, my two favorite are: cold or free... and if you can get both, then life is truly good!

USA vs. Canada hockey
A great win for the U.S. team. Hopefully Miller can continue his hot play, although we definitely have to do better at limiting the number of shots. USA!!

Enterprise Rent-A-Car
I echo what other's have said about there always being folks out there who hate a particular company or job, no matter how great the company. Enterprise is based here in St. Louis and has an excellent reputation as a company people want to work for. My best friend has been with them for 18 years and has done extremely well for himself. He helped my nephew get a job there right out of college a couple years ago and my nephew has already progressed up a couple levels. Hope this helps, and good luck! Tom

What 5 setups for Table Rock in late April
Thanks RSB... I got a hit on Google yesterday searching for "modified red fin", which basically described it just as you did. Ditto, mum's the word... they'll have to beat the information out of me

What 5 setups for Table Rock in late April
Hey RSB, I was there that spring when the water was so high, we were practically fishing in people's back yards! Well, almost... ;-) I've got several red fins, just curious which size and colors you prefer to modify/use? Also, I usually go the 2nd week of May, would you suggest the modified red fin over the spook then as well? Thanks, Tom

What 5 setups for Table Rock in late April
Hey bonsaibp, I take a trip to The Rock with several buddies each year, although we go around the 2nd week of May, usually the week after Mother's Day. We stay near Indian Point and fish from there down past the dam and into Long Creek. Sometimes venture the other way toward Kimberling City, but rarely ever past KC. The most success I have in May is with c-rigged or split shot fish doctors, centipedes, french fries or Senkos. Also have great luck with finesse worms on a shakey head. I tend to stick with dark greens and browns. Another good option is a grub, 4" single tail on a 1/4 to 3/8 oz jig head. Colors I typically use are salt & pepper, watermelon seed or green pumpkin. I fish them slow to medium speed, but usually the key is to "scrub" the bottom on the retrieve. Have also had some success with spooks, crank baits and flukes, although not nearly as much as the others listed above. BTW, will send you a PM with one other piece of information. Tom

2010-The Trash is Flying and There's Still No Pennant in Chicago
Wow, you can say that again!

2009 The Pennants are flying and the Trash is almost in view!
I haven't checked this thread in awhile, so I'm a little behind... I think the Penny deal is good. Only for one year, so no long-term money tied up. And Duncan has proven he can bring guys back into form, and if that happens Penny will be a heck of a 4th starter. Oh, and the Cards signed that guy Holliday... not a bad 3-4-5 with Pujols, Holliday and Ludwick.

IT'S A GIRL!!!
That's awesome... Congratulations!

Mulder? Seriously? They should look back at what happened to the Cards and approach very, very cautiously.

If there's a better starting pitcher in all of baseball right now than Chris Carpenter, I don't know who it is. Wow!

Cardinals sign John Smoltz... At $100k for this year, if he has anything at all left, it's a great signing. If he doesn't, nothing lost but a little pocket change.

Need a guide recommendation near Branson, MO.
Hey flechero, hope this isn't too late, but here are a few Table Rock guides who I've read "reports" from others are pretty good (note: I've never used them myself): Bill Babler Capt. Don House Eric Prey I'm sure there are other good ones, but if I were hiring a guide it would probably be one of these three.

Alright, I'll say it...
We're leaving this Friday for some beach time in Gulf Shores and I'm trying to convince my 8 yr old son that maybe he shouldn't spend so much time watching SW shows

Facebook junky?
I've just gotten into Facebook within the last couple months and have enjoyed it... in fact it's allowed me to re-connect with some of the folks I used to bum around with in high school, and even stay in touch with some relatives that I hardly ever see. And since I'm multi-talented, I'm able to frequent not only Facebook but other sites... like this one 8-)

2009 The Pennants are flying and the Trash is almost in view!
They sure did, after we took the first two games from the 'Stros and 3 of 4 from the Dodgers... all while Pujols is in arguably the worst slump of his career. A half-game out means nothing, it's anyone's division and I would not be surprised if it's this close into the last week of the season. It's gonna be fun!

Matt Holliday has been a beast since coming to the Cards: .606 avg (20 of 33) with 3 home runs and 10 RBI.

any musicians?
Based on my experiences here there are very few musicians on BR and even fewer with opinions about music and/or musicians ;D

The Far Side
The Far Side is the only one I ever made the time to read... great stuff by Larson!
