  1. My sons are: Dominic (keeps with the ever-popular "double-D") Nicholas (Nicko)
  2. Now that's funny, I don't care who ya are... ;D
  3. I believe it's in Valley Park... here's a link with some info: http://www.stlouisco.com/parks/simpson.html
  4. Give Washington county a try. Just about 2-3 miles south of Nashville. Around 300 acre lake, 10hp motor limit. It's a lake that is normally has some sort of power bait bite going on it as the lake has a bunch of cover in it just under the surface along the banks. Good fish up to 8lbs in the lake. Thanks cart, appreciate the input. Every time we go to the ponds in Nashville we pass the entrance to WA county lake. One of us usually says something like: "We gotta fish that lake sometime." : Also, I work in Tree Court Industrial, off Marshall Road, which is a stones throw from Simpson. I should give that a try, too!
  5. Thanks a lot guys for the input and suggestions, it's much appreciated!
  6. Are these the type of pegs you use: http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_89941____SearchResults Or is there something else you prefer? Thanks!
  7. I have some small (1/8 & 1/16) tungsten bullet weights and was thinking about using them on a split shot set up by pegging them 12" to 24" above a worm. When fishing rocky bottoms a regular split shot weight seems to snag on the rocks... doesn't get hung up, just catches on the rock edges, cracks, etc. Do you think using a bullet weight in this fashion would work well? Would the weight stay in place? Thanks, Tom
  8. Hey huelsy12, welcome to the forum! I graduated from SEMO in '89, however spent most of my "free" time playing golf and partying :-X, and unfortunately not fishing. Suggest following what Senile1 posted. Tom
  9. Once the weather gets better - and the kids soccer and basketball comes to an end - I'll start hitting some ponds near Nashville, IL on property my brother in law owns. My one big trip is to Table Rock the 2nd week of May. Would love to hit other good bass lakes that are close to St. Louis (that is, less than an hour from the city) simply because my time available to fish is so limited... but don't know of many. But I'm all "ears"...
  10. That is hilarious... thanks for sharing!

  12. I'm a Logistics/Transportation manager for a medical device manufacturing company. Been with the company over 17 years... although the one I started with was bought out about 10 years ago.
  13. I was thinking about going Saturday also , glad I didn't! Guess I'll try later this week.
  14. This is mine... ah, Clemenza!
  15. I only fish TRL once a year, and usually the Eastern part of the lake, but the majority of fish I have caught have been SM (with Spots second and LM third). The SM population seems to be higher than the rest, I'm sure impacted to some extent by the LMBV which hit the lake around '99. By all accounts, though, TRL has bounced back quite nicely. With that said, I agree with tkite16 about fishing from the dam south into Long Creek Arm, although I've never ventured into AR.
  16. I have no doubts that it's good.... after all, bacon makes everything good, right?

    Congratulations!
  18. For all you pork lovers out there, check this out. One word of caution, though: Your arteries may start to clog just reading this recipe! http://www.bbqaddicts.com/blog/recipes/bacon-explosion/
  19. My kids and I have been passing it back and forth for about 6 weeks now... just when I think I'm over it, wham! Like you I rarely get sick, so this has really sucked >

Just rec'd my order of football jigs yesterday from GMAN, can't wait to try them out!
  21. I use them, but they aren't green. They definitely keep bananas from getting dark too quickly. Haven't used them for any other fruits or veggies yet.
  22. Whether you like'em or not is, of course, personal preference... but it's a fundraiser which pays for a lot of the things the girls get to do throughout the year. My wife is the troop leader for my 10 year old's troop, so I have to live it...
  23. I was wanting to believe it was real... and then I saw the clip with Bulger. As a season ticket holder I can safely say the Bulger I watched last year would have never even come close to hitting that down marker... unless he was actually throwing to a receiver who was out of the picture. DOH!

I won't be able to check until this evening, but I believe it was one of the last two issues. If no one else confirms the exact month, I will later tonight. It's in the "Angler's Workbench" section of the February '09 issue.
