Lure Retrievers
I won't be able to check until this evening, but I believe it was one of the last two issues. If no one else confirms the exact month, I will later tonight.

Lure Retrievers
There's a "how to" article in a recent issue of Bassmaster mag that shows how to make a lure retriever using a piece of copper pipe and short pieces of chain (the type of chain that hold the weights inside old window frames).

What is your favorite fishing situation?
Really, just any chance I get to fish, since I can't as much as I would like

For those of you who have buried hooks in your hand...
LOL... I got the hook from a Spook caught in the meaty part of my palm, just below the thumb. Cut the treble off the lure, cut the other two hooks off, put some ice on it for awhile to get it numb and a buddy used this technique. Worked like a charm.

Hooked on Jimmy Stewart movies.
Stewart is truly one of the greats to ever grace the silver screen... and if that wasn't enough, he distinguished himself in the military also: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Stewart_(actor)

Pinewood Derby
Thanks Bass Fisherman... it is a lot of fun, even for someone as mechanically challenged as myself! And they now have races for girls, called the Powderpuff Derby. My daughter's race is in a couple weeks. Tom

Pinewood Derby
I was never in the Scouts growing up, but now that my 8 year old son is I'm getting to experience the Pinewood Derby. He raced last weekend and just missed finishing in the top six and going to Districts. Oh well, we had fun building his car together. Following are a couple pics of his car, and one of him.

Charlie Wilson's war.
I rented it a while back, thought it was very good.

Secondary Point Question
There are no rules; just general guidlines that someone smart wrote. Fish don't read Probably a poor choice of words on my part... guidelines is more accurate. So these would be pretty good guidelines to use when fishing any body of water. That was really my question. And I'm not so sure about the "fish don't read" thing, based on previous posts on the forum, fish have eyes, so they must be able to see, so they must be able to... Ah, never mind

Secondary Point Question
Great info all, thanks! Just curious, do the general rules cited above regarding what areas to target hold true on most bodies of water? For example, do they apply regardless if it's a very deep, clear reservoir as opposed to a shallower, stained or even muddy lake?

BassResource on City Limits!
I caught it for the first time last weekend, they were in Nashville. Very cool show! By the way, while the Seattle show airs 3 times this weekend, according to the VS. website it will air several more times after than, even into March.

Drop shotting for dummies
An excellent explanation and even better video about the rig... Thanks!

Table Rock Lake
I only fish TRL once a year and never for crappie, but what the others have said for bass has worked for me. I do plan to give drop shotting a try this year, though. Also, last year the grub bite seemed to be on, 4" green pumpkin single tail on a ball jig head was the ticket. Of course, the water level last spring was VERY high, probably won't be that high this year. My trip is in mid-May, so needless to say I would be curious to know how you do in late April.

Refresher
Very interesting narrative... Thanks for sharing! Tom

Michael Phelps does it again...
How utterly unfortunate that he's a human being and made some mistakes... thankfully I haven't made any in my life. Hopefully he will start to make better decisions before something with more serious, long-term effects happens.

Way to go Steelers!!!!
Funny thing happened while I was watching the game... my brother brushed up against me as I was standing in the doorway, and someone threw a flag on him for "roughing the beer drinking guy standing in the doorway". He barely touched me, but still got flagged. Oh well, at least the halftime show was lame, as usual. Reasonably entertaining football game, though.

Mud Bugs: What Depth?
Sam, I picked them up on eBay, got all four for $20... Interesting thing, though, the first Mud Bug's I bid on were two brand new one's, still in their original packaging, and I stopped at $18... and believe it or not, they sold for over $50 for two!!! Ridiculous. By the way, thanks everyone for your insight into these intriguing lures. Tom

Mud Bugs: What Depth?
Well, I'll definitely give them a try. And they all have a ball inside, so wondering why you guys would need to put BB's in them...?
