thanks snook! i talked to one of the Lt.s thats ripping out with us and he said the best way he found was to get a rig with like 6 jigs on it drop it down the side of the pier catch the smaller baby ones that come in for the warmer water then put em on a hook and zing em out there for bait and hold on. he said they catch alot of Queens fish and the biggest cuda he caught was about 30" but hes seen bigger cruising around. he said once the hot 100+ weather days get here he said the fishing picks up and is non stop action. he said they ate the queens fish but never the cuda but the kuwaites would take em in a heart beat. he mentioned something bout not eating the big ones though he didnt know why but he was warned not to. im exited as hell to get out there my poles and reels arnt anything special dont know the line either its cheap i know that much i may buy some new stuff from the haji shop everythings in arabic and the reels and rods are all in chinese so its a guess what im buying but theres one that looks like a abu cardnal im gonna haggle with him and get the price down and buy it i think. they have hooks and stuff but also all chinese labels so i have no clue what im buying i may just have the wife mail my pike box and catfish box out i have some heavy circle hooks in my cat gear.

i never seen the point of one iv always used a pen or something stuck between couch cushions if no one was around to hold it and just pinched it between my fingers as it went onto my reel. after all its only gonna be wraped on there nice and perfict till u use the thing then that first cast its goneand comes back on the spool the same way wether i used a station or a pen wedged in some thing. maybe im mistaken but thats my take on it

iv caught a few over 8" in small lakes up here fed by erie and ontario i usually toss em in the rocks to die

what are good technique for cuda's i keep hearing there are a lot of them here in Kuwait and me and another fellow fishing buff in my platoon have a bet going we threw 25 bucks each in a jar and end of deployment biggest fish takes it. there's been a lot of smack talk but i have a secret weapon that's this site. i have some lures mostly stick type baits I'm going to buy some more stuff once i get a feel for what i need and the water depth here. any help or tips would be helpful.

do you know if hes at KNB or AJ if so what company were scattered all over the country but im at KNB with occasional trips to AJ if hes here iv probably seen him but everyone is usually in pt's so names arnt visable

both are great i like them both but i tend to throw the shad more. i like the toad more for the fact that it seems more durable then the shad the tails on the shad rip very easy i have yet to have a toads legs/tail rip. but both are great

thats what weve been saying its more a vacation then anything they took a company of infantry guys and some cav scouts and threw us on a naval base and were taking a company to replace like a platoon so our shifts are short its basicly a live in gym for 10months. the people here are nuts the way they drive. im hoping to get out fishing tonight for the first time but they only allow 5 at a time 2 hours at a time and thats split base wide so 5 people between all the navy, army, coast guard, and local kuwaites

the gym here at KNB is sick i go 2x a day i wake up do cardio i joined the cardio club iv got almost 50mi logged allready i get a tshirt every 250 lol. then i hit the weights in the afternoon i got a guy in my squad thats into body building so iv gona under his wing kinda and we go everyday and lift. this is gonna be cake walk i dont even wanna call it a deployment or call the missions missions more like babysitting or sunday drives. i doubt im gonna hear that whisstle or cracking sound it is diffrent past years being trained to fight and search and be suspecious and now im working out next to haj and shoping in the px next to them making small talk they got pretty good english.

well iv arrived in kuwait been here sense monday i think it was i cant remember i loose track of days. im finally getting on the forums after waiting and paying a fortune for haji net lol 460 us start cost 130 a month after that for the friggen net and i cant even get skype to work for some reason. theres fishing here i wasnt even here an hour and i got my hands on 2 poles and some lures with teethmarks in them got it all for 30 bucks off a guy were replacing . i guess there catching cuda, tuna, grouper down by the pier. the fishing should make this 10mo go easy. figured id drop my BR family a line and let ya know i made it and im still fishing. id share more but i cant cuz of opsec but if i catch some fish ill try and get sme pics and load em up

My mom used to purposely slam doors and stomp her feet if I was home alone and I had "company" over so I never got caught I just finished ahead of Schedual now I deal with the kids and unlocked doors....... Wait there was the time I forgot to take the disk thingy outa my buddy's camcorder befor giving it back to his mom..........she got a view or two of me and my gf I heard bout that one for a long time lol

+1 I have a 09 extreme and iv been nothing but disappointed with it the rod is nice the reel I wouldent even give it away for others to use I'd sooner toss it in the trash befor plague some one else with it. Hopefully for u guys the newer ones are better

That **** don't work.............. Iv been trying to Woosaaa to much I think it's not working anymore I'm at my wits end and working out isn't releaving any tension either. Iv even turned to smoking again or at least attempting to but that created another woosaaa moment.

I'm sure u can find it ables ammo has alot of hard to find stuff but it's pricy u may be better off just looking at it then shooting it depending on ammo price.

The surface of the sun I'll be plenty safe I don't even wanna call it a deployment it's playing out like a vacation 30bucks a month gets me Internet in my 2 man room theres a pool on the camp a pretty good gym from what I hear and there's good grouper and barracuda fishing..... When I joined the infantry I never thought I'd be going to a sovereign nation to baby sit on a navel base. I guess it's a blessing in disguise cuz I'll return to my family in one piece a little buff and jacked but I'll be coming home I'm just gonna be bored off my arse the whole time exept when fishing I hope it's as good as they say.

Same here bored waiting to ship out to Kuwait all the training is done a few guys going to medical here and there but as for me sitting around bored checking over forums and watching movies.

I love em I use grubs as trailers. I just cast and reel back at varies speeds on the way back. I fish mine in the river for smallies and kill em on it the mini ones that is. The larger ones I have less luck with but still catch fish usually pike for some reason but the spots I fish I think pike out number bass 5:1. As for colors I throw chartrus, white, green/black in that order chart and white are my top producers.

Mine came in today my wife texted me asking why a package from trokar was at the apt she was about to rip me a new one but I quickly fired an explanation about this thread to her and she understood and is gonna take it and have it sent to her parents in her name so I get double or she will keep em for herself.....
