I shot my first chuck with my .243 yesterday with the 58gr vmax and I must say I was disapointed I was expecting a red mist chuck flying end over end but nothing he was walking outa a soybeen field about 260yds. I shot it in the neck and it just stoped walking like nothing happend but I know I didn't miss. Walked up to it and there was just a little hole with some frothy blood and that was it. I supose on the factor of just flat out killing it gets 5 stars along with saving the pelt another 5 stars but I was under the impression it would explode the chuck kinda like the varmint grenade.

Iv landed my biggest bass ever hooked it was my 8.8lber last year and that's huge for new york. Now iv hooked into a monster pike iv never landed he's gotta be pushing 20+ if I had to guess this thing was striping drag on my revo cranked all the way down she ran up and down the creek 4 times me running right behind it trying not to get spooled. She ended up streightning out my hook on a booyah spinner! But as for bass iv landed my biggest hooked but there's been a lot of 6 and 7s iv had come unbuttoned right at the bank or edge of the canoe and when that happens I sound like a trucker and a sailer having a swearing contest lol.

Just be like me and blame it on the bass stupidy they don't bite its not that there to smart but more then there to dumb to bite something tasty looking let em starve and go hungry 99% of us throw em back the sooner the bass learn to take one for the team the better. Lol that's what I always say when not getting bit its them being to stupid to bite sexy lures by saying there to smart because of line lure what ever just means a fish out smarted me and ya can't have that

I went out groundhog hunting today and got 1 finaly with the 243 58gr vmax and I must say I'm slightly disapointed. Iv heard all these reports of them blowing up and being messy and iv shot pumpkins with them and it made a big mess. However the chuck wasn't blown up or anything it had a tiny frothy entry with no exit. I supose that's good because its great for coyote and fox but I was hoping for a big splat and red mist

What's everyones experiance with these I just picked some up along with the nose hook jig for them. I only got 1 pack for now there arnt many in a pack but something bout them just told me to buy them. I watched a youtube video from icast they say just cast and reel straight back.

Very nice I like the dodges better just for that cummins and styling the body lines are sharp on the dodge but chevy is in a close 2nd. If they could pair the cummins with the allison in any body truck that would be the shiz. Ya def gotta beef up the engine though as much as u can the new laws make diesel's *** no black smoke and that DPF with urea injection is soooooo ***. If u run out your truck goes into limp mode till u fill it again. I love the billit bowties powder coated to match then all the mods ur gonna get will make this truck a head turner for sure.

Bow doesn't open here till oct 17 this year I think its around then id have to look at the calender to see what day saterday is. Sept. 1 goose and squirrel opens but I'm not a waterfowler and squirrels are fun but a got a bag of there meat in the freezer still my wife won't let me cook it she's affraid it will contaminate her kitchen or something crazy

Id hope so that's what the army trained me to do. I love shooting I haven't to much this year last year I was firing couple hundred rounds a week. Yesterday was the first time I took a gun out sense january. One spot I fish at I like to carry a .22 or my .17 with me to smoke the woodchucks next to the pond for my buddy. Everytime I take a gun they don't come out but if I leave it at home ill see 15 of em I poked one last year with my tecspec rod he got so close to me.

I'm ready I won't get much hunting in this year however. Ill miss the last half of gun and the begining of bow. I'm gonna miss the best parts of coyote and fox though and I'm more into predator hunting then deer.

Dinks usualy do this to me the rest always pop the point regardless if how deep it was in the plastic. A solid hookset woulda drove the point threw the rubber as well

I was just bout to post in the everything else forum and I noticed that there's now a hunting section and I was gonna post bout shooting its like glenn read my mind. Well anyways back to shooting I was just out confirming the zero on my .243 because last time I shot it I was missing and not as tight as I wanted like I usually shoot. Well I got all set up expecting to be way off fired off 3rnds went checked my target and I had 1 hole 1 inch high. So I was a bit puzzled why I had 1 hole in a entire sheet of plywood. Could I have had 1 on target and the rest were off by more then 5 feet or so. Well I looked at the back side and what do ya know there's 3 distinct holes on the other side about 8th inch apart but still making 1 bigger hole. So I went back to 300yards fired 3 more rounds my grouping went up to 3/4 of an inch and 1/4low. Now that's amazing way less then a MOA and in a cheap marlin xs7 that cost me $380 with the scope. All I can say now is its ground hog time.

Thanks What's really got me and my wife so freaked bout this whole accident is he's been to afghanistan 2 or 3 times come back fine and takes a bird out for training and gets killed. What's really sad is Trevor was just married back in May I can't imagine what his wife is going threw right now.

Yes I leave for afghan. In november ill be gone 12mo in country for only 9 though 3mo are train up

My best wishes go out to the families of those marines killed in the helicoptor crash. This ones pretty close to home the crew chief killed in the crash was a close friend of mine growing up he lives down the road from me well his parents now. We used to fish the erie canal derby every summer together and played paintball together all threw high school and baseball as well. R.I.P Trev

I just noticed the dodge is a 1500 so no cummins in that thing but the 318 still was a good engine if taken care of

What engine is it in the dodge if its a diesel id buy that thing in a heartbeat 200k ain't nothing for a diesel that's just broke in. If a car truck what ever it be is taken care of it will last forever no matter who made it. I just retired a 97 cavy in april with 298k on it and its a cavalier!! But the oil was changed ever 3k on the dot tires rotated every few months brakes done every 6mo(car was drove 180mi a day RT for work) every oct it was shake can under coated to survive ny winters. It went out with no rust original paint original head gasket and almost 300k getting 35mpg. Id have both trucks checked out or wait till something nicer comes along buy from old people to if u can they like to take care of there vehicals and usually save there reciepts for the work done to it.

It almost seems like this is starting to fade I'm noticing more and more shown tats in professions where you would normally think they woulmdent be allowed. But there are also some jobs that u can't have any visable. When I first started teaching I kept mine covered and one day the principle asked why I was wearing a long sleeve shirt in 95* weather and I told him to cover my tats and he laughed and said it was fine other teachers show there's as long as its not a naked women or swear words. My wife works for the same school just diffrent part she works with special ed and she has to keep hers covered which isn't hard because its her back piece. But iv seen doctors and nurses with sleeves or even on there neck along with real estate agents. You would never expect to see it on them guys but your starting to along with sales reps I think its starting to be more accepted as long as its not vulger

Like every one else said if it fits in the mouth its fair game. Iv even caught sunnys on larger swim baits they just swat at it and oops sharp hook in the side. But dontforget the toothy guys they will take bass lures all day I got a walleye Tuesday on a rattle trap I was working around the docks with.

It happend to me last night flipping a jig around a beaver dam I snagged a bark bass I hooked a big chunk of tree bark and it was going every which way felt like little head shakes till I got it to the surface and seen it. Boy was I mad lol I just gave it a twitch and the jig came free. Flip flops are the worst to snag they really feel like a fish
