Does anyone know where I can buy parts for my reel. I looked at quantum's website but the parts page would not work. I am looking for a pawl screw cap for a quantum energy 600 pt. Will also need other parts for other reels too, so I am looking for a place that sells parts for all kind of reels. Thanks!

If you are fishing in lakes or streams that are stocked with trout in PA you better have a stamp or they will give you a hard time. Also we have some lakes that you can't fish at all until opening day of trout!

I would take another look at the Abu 5500 c3. Play with it put it on a rod and palm it. The reel looks a little big but after using one for awhile I think you may be able to get use to it. For the price that reel is a workhorse and if you don't like it after a few times you can put it on eBay and get most of your money back. Some walmarts have these at great prices! IMO it is worth another look!

Use them in alot of different types and I like them with no problems.

I also thought of using it for spinnerbait fishing too. Again I know nothing about braid but I think it would benefit me to start using some!

Has anyone tried this yet? Also thinking of getting some for a spinning reel and also some for crankbait fishing what size do you guys recommend? Thinking of getting 20lb for the spin setup don't know what to get for shallow cranking. The spin setup would be for senko fishing docks and such. The crank setup would be for shallow squarebills. Does this stuff sink faster than mono or float more? They also have some different colors what color is best. I like the timber brown and the yellow but would be afraid of the yellow standing out. I do not intend on using any leaders of any type. Sorry but I am really uninformed when it comes to braid!

No I bought it new from cabelas about 3-4 years ago. It is a mossyback jig and worm rod.

Once march hits I will be fishing as much as I can! The yough has some big smallies and even bigger largemouths but they are harder to catch. The mon river is ok can be tough sometimes but there are good numbers in some of the pools. There are also some smaller lakes like Dunlap that has good bass fishing. There is alot of good fishing around if you know where to look!

I think it depends on what technique you are doing. A great rod will change your fishing forever!

Being the middle of winter and struggling to make it to spring I watch alot of fishing on tv. So it got me thinking about all of the shows and tourney trails that are on and how the all work. I love watching all the shows like Zona, Timmy Horton, Dance and others, but my favorite are the tournaments. I grew up watching Bassmasters and love it but I feel like they are falling behind! FLW is great and PAA is ok. World series of Bass is fun too, but Major League Fishing is awesome! I think they have really tapped into something awesome. Bassmaster seems to be falling off the radar a little due to no air time during these cold days of winter. Do you guys think that MLF will eventually turn into something more and do you think that the other circuits are paying attention and will give us more than what we are use to? Would love to hear from you guys and see what you think would make these cold dark days even better!

I caught a 31" 10 pound rainbow trout at deep creek lake in Maryland while fishing a walleye tourney a few years ago! I caught it on 6# trilene, thought I had the tourney winner!...lol...

I live north of you on the PA WV line and I have always lived by April being prespawn and May being spawning. I know there is alot of wiggle room there but it is a good start.

the line was new mono that i put on for him, i am pretty sure it was not the rod i am going to take it apart this weekend and look at the frame that is one area i thought may be causing the problem. thanks guys!

hey guys, my friend that just started bass fishing this past year has a abu silver max baitcaster reel and towards the end of the season we noticed that his line was getting cut somehow. so he gave it to me today to take a look at it and see if i could find the problem and fix it. so any ideas of what may be happening? also, i know nothing about this reel as far as brakes or anything for that matter so any help or info would be greatly appreciated! also ideas on how to set it up for him he is not that familiar with a bait caster yet. he is a trout fisherman that i am trying to turn to the dark side...lol.. thanks guys for the help!

use mainly mono for everything but i may try some braid on my spinning setup for senkos this year to skip with but every time i go to something else i always end up going back to mono!
