Kent wish I could fish tomorrow. But will be on our way to Memphis, then rush home. One of my wifes uncles passed away laste night. But if you can make it next week, I sure hope to get on the water a few days. Also have not seen or heard anything about a shad kill. But with this warm weather we can have one if theh threadfin shad move shallow and then these 17 degree nights will kill them off. Its funny there so dumb they will stay shallow and freeze to death. But I drove by the river yesterday and the birds were not feeding so don't think its happened yet. Also flood gates are cut off so fishing will change some also.

Nice fish, but sounds like someone needs to be taking more fish out. Being you say its full of small bass and that one looks like its been on weight watchers way to long. Way to many fish for what food they have in there. I have a small pond that has some 10+ bass in it and they are ok, but its full of bait. Then theres a small lake near here, that has the state record in it. But its been worked for trophy bass also. Good luck and keep on enjoying the fishing. Pete

They sink slow, But if your using a 1/16th oz or so jig you have to wet them or they will float. Used to buy these to fish with. But now would rather tie them my self. Been Tying Sauger jigs the last few days. Pete

Looks great, What did you use for the clear coat? It sure looks deep. Also did you dip the clear coat or spray it? Would love to have one of those in the first pic. what is it? If I can find one local I will sure put it to use. I have an ideal and it looks like what I have been hunting for.

Tied up a few jigs today with Rabbit Zonker, hope these can sway a big Small Mouth bass into eating it at pickwick soon. 1/4 oz round head with Matzuo 3/0 Sickle hooks This one has some 3/8th oz foot ball heads with 4/0 Matzuo Sickle hooks and also some of my long fish hair jigs. I have caught a few good small mouth on these. They look strange but work great on Small Mouth and Sauger. The red head and blue hair jigs is a 1/8th oz Rolly Polly Head jig

To make the power paint stay on, it need to be baked. I use a small toaster oven when I'm doing 3 or 4 dozen. Set it at 320 degrees for 20 minutes. There tough as nails, I can bounce a Sauger jigs off the bottom a long time the paint is still good. But If I only heat them with my heat gun, it does not stay on there for long.

Be careful below the ramp there when the waters low. Theres only a few inches of water there with low water. Pete

Its the extra light that gives the bars time to pop. Dark water the fish will be a darker color, But if they have been shallow in clear water or a livewell. The color comes out on a fish. Back around 1988 I caught my PB small mouth and it was not a good looking fish. But when we got in for the weigh in that evening. It has turned into the best looking fish I have seen. Pete

Nice fish there for sure. I need to show you a few extra rock piles along that stretch of water. Also a nice big drop that will hold them in the winter time. Its hard to hit but when you do its priceless. Pete

I will throw cranks, but deep when I throw them is less then 15ft and most times less then 8 ft. Pete

Glad you had 2 good days. Now to start out the new years with a few good days.. I have been stuck home with the stomach bug.

There still running around 116,000 Cubic feet of water today. Around 20 boats from the new lock wall down to the first ditch fishing for Sauger. Theres some good limits of those being caught the last few days. Most are early then they slack off. Also seen a few small mouth fishing from the Botel down river on the Savannah Side. Sure hope to get to fish next Tuesday, Then was planning on fishing Friday. But have to take my wife to Sterns in Memphis for a stress test. So Friday is out. Pete

Will be using my video camara this way, just one of those deals did not even give the remote any thought. But I have a little tripod on it now. And it fits inside of one of my seat pestials. But just was not thinking of using the remote. Pete

Did you find that the clam suit and Artic Armor runs the same size? Also don't think I would have the sweating issues. As I would only use the AA in cold weather and even then could take the jacket off. Buddy of mine has been using it for 3 years. He has used his even in 50 degree weather and did not sweat. But then again he dresses light with it on also. We fsih a lot in below freezing weather and make long runs in the boat. So would not be moving around and even with it on while hunting it would be duck hunting so again sitting not moving. Pete

I have that same issue LOL Man make me feel like a total dumb Bass, Forgot about my vidoe camara having a remote... Always use my old Sony Camara in the boat. But guess now the Vidoe camara will be adde also.

Will be ordering a set of Arctic Armor cold weather gear. (IDI Gear) This stuff is unreal, bibs and jacket with a pair of gloves only weight 4 lbs and will float 3 men at one time. Now for the question, they make it in Red and black, It has a slick lining inside. Then Green and Black it has a Fleece lining to it, along with the Camo set. So if you were ordering would you go with Red and black? Better to see if you did fall in ? Or the Green and black? But then agian I can use it hunting also and use the camo, But then again it will not stand out if you were to fall in. Then on the other hand I wear the Auto inflate SOS suppenders and they are Yellow if they actvate. So guess you can see those. This stuff is unreal will keep you warm in normal cloths down to freezing and not burn you up in rain in 50 degree weather. Pete

May be tough to get all those colors in one bait. But theres lots of custom bait makers online that will do there best to make what you want. I have been trying to find a few molds for baits I use the most and will then be able to inject my own baits. Plus pour all that I want that has a flat bottom. Pete

I know there has to be a lot of us that fish along a lot. And know a good way to take pictures of our catch? Heres one from this year not a good way but it did make it easy for me .

Got my 987c-Si in jan of 2006, It opens up so many spots to fish different than you fished for years. And yes these show the fish as white spots. The one below is of crappie thousands of them. We caught over 100 in 1.5 hours even 2 at a time a lot of the time. Sunken barge at the State line of Tn and Ky on Ky lake Log above the Dam at Pickwick hanging off a drop off. Ball of bait fish with fish eating on them, You can see each of the bigger fish going in for the kill. Even caught a Big Catfish on this one right side of the screen.

Way to much work there LOL. But I do think the batterys would have to be moved. I can see my self being killed after stepping on them. That or short them out with the dipnet. LOL Keep up the good work, that was a joy to watch. If you see a White Lund following you around with Tn on it. Its not me. Pete
