It's not worse but I wouldn't say it's better. If you want a split grip and fancy new paint job go for it. I'd go for weight savings on the reel, check out the lews team gold carbon 2000, its cheaper than the saros too.

With 1/4oz I use a medium, under MH's I generally dont go under 3/8oz. Are you set on a MH for the lighter stuff?

I knew a guy once that I showed this type of data to and he laughed at it and continued to believe what the product box said. The initial stretch in the hands when first handling the line should show you enough elasticity compared to other lines you handled.

There's also two size shims, a thin and thicker one. I've used all the shims on one reel before and some don't need any.

On many shimanos I have used the shims for proper line placement. Usually when I switch out diameters or even when I first use the reel. That is the reason for them.

LT 6'8MXF with 12lb mono can handle all that and jerkbaits

Just cause someone is asking $100 doesnt mean it's worth it.

The bps $5 ones are OK. I've had some of the ends peel apart, if you have a smaller guide tip it'll stab right through at times.
