  1. Now that I think back on it, I think I forgot one of the Golden Rules ...... "Don't eat the yellow snow"
  2. That sucks man. I don't think there is a magic cure for that. All I know of is liquids and sleep which is not always the easiest thing to do. I've been up all night too with some sort of stomach bug. It has been coming out both ends if you catch my drift. I have a concert to go to tonight too. > Get well soon buddy.
  3. First snow storm of the season is always fun and since I've learned to put these videos together ........... well here it is. The attempt on the jumps suck in this. First off we couldn't get the snow packed hard enough and second the "snowboard" (if that's what you want to call it) had no edges so you could not steer it plus the board didn't have the strap for your back foot. My buddy doing the boarding is from Canada and he says he has on old POS snowboard (real) he will bring back from Christmas break. So the next video should be better ;D We used to have a water ski that we sawed the back fin off, but that has disappeared. This was the first time we had done this since high school. Still fun as ever ;D
  4. Sounds EXACTLY what we got yesterday. By the end on the day there looked like there was about a 1/2" of snow, but it was all ICE. Now the snow has been falling pretty good since 12:00 or so.
  5. I like that. That's the new "Bond" car isn't it????
  6. I get maybe one email a week or so. Catalogs through the mail .............. now that's a different story. Seems like I am getting one a week. I mean come on, how many "Christmas" catalogs can there reaaly be????? Seems like I have about 100 of them. :-?
  7. Yep, Kansas City area got hit pretty hard with the ice today. Then tomorrow around noon the snow begins. I've heard anywhere from a dusting to 12" :-?

I bet you had RW checking his reel collection. ;D ;D
  9. Monkey brought me one of those a few weeks ago as well.
  10. What exactly is this? I think I know but not sure Does it inclued a Truck, hitch, ski rope and a snowboard. :-? I've done that back in the high school days, but it included a Honda Accord w/ the trunk open, one guy in the trunk holding onto a rope, and an POS water ski with the fin cut off.
  11. I'm normally not a big fan of the "Japanese" look. To me it's like ..... let's get some of the most gaudy colors and put them together and somehow that becomes cool. IMO the 1st and 3rd one are awful looking. Fine reels no doubt, but real obnoxious looking. Now that 2nd one .... Wow, that thing is SWEEEEEEEEEEEETTTTTTT!!!!!
  12. Seriously now to answer the question .......... The easiest walk the dog bait would have to be the LC Sammy ... or at least that I have tried. The Zara Spook is another great walk the dog bait, but it takes a little practice to get the bait to work right.
  13. No no no muddy. You got that backwards. YOU walk something like this To LURE something like this The puppy though is a "reaction bait". The actual "hook up" and "landing" is up to you.
  14. Top 10????? Congrats. That's impressive. ;D ;D ;D
  15. What? GMAN, When I get you down here you will remember the bait, the weight, the date and the time of day! June 21, 1980 12 noon. white quarter ounce single colorado hammered blade, "Brush hog" brand spinnerbait. 7lbs. 8 oz's but who can remember that long ago ;D March 25, 2005 There was a slight wind out of the south, 5.8 mph if I remember correctly, and I was fishing the east side of Little Caney on Lake Fork. At precisely 11:36:06 am I made a cast with my Strike King Series 4S crankbait past one of the many stumps on Fork. I began reeling in and about 7 turns of the handle I could feel my crank start to hang up in the grass. I "popped" it free and felt it run into the stump and then felt a slight tick. I began reeling in and to my surprise there was no resistance ........... I was confused for a split second then............... FISH ON. I reeled as fast as I could to catch up and by the time I caught up she was about 20 ft from the boat and was starting to come up. Then I see the "flash" and I almost crap my pants, but somehow nervously utter the word "Giant" to my dad that I have a good fish on. It's the biggest d**n bass I have ever seen. She started to come to the surface and I did everything I could to keep her down but she made a picture perfect jump about 10 ft from the boat. By this time my heart is shaking my whole body it's pumping so hard and I kind of feel like I am going to pass out, but I am loving it. My dad then realizes that I wasn't joking and he starts getting a little nervous too asking if there's anything he can do. I told him to see if there is a net (rented boat) and he does not find one. I worked my way to the side of the boat because the big momma was about to surface next to the boat where I could lip her ...... WRONG. That would be way too easy. As soon as she surfaced at the side of the boat she made a dive like I had never seen or felt before. A small crowd is starting to gather around our boat and I am beginning to think I have a new SAL to donate. She finally begins to surface again and I reach my hand out to grab her, but she takes another powerful but short dive. After another minute or so she surfaces again, only this time onto my thumb. I raise her out of the water and it felt like the world had been lifted off my shoulders. The few boats that gathered around were clapping and telling me to hold it up and telling me about the SAL program (that I of course already knew about). As my dad fumbled around looking for the scale some people were asking me how long it was so I measured it on the "Golden Rule" ruler that was attached to the rented boat ......... 25". One guy tells me I have real shot at a SAL. My dad finally finds the scale ..... moment of truth ............. 10 lbs 8 oz. A little disappointing she wasn't 13+, she definitely looked it to me and others, but none the less my first 10+ and a new PB so who can complain. I posed for a few pictures for my self and then for another boat that asked for a picture (I really wish I could hunt these people down. Turns out my dad left the digital camera in his suit case, so all I got were camera phone shots. There's no doubt they have better pictures of my fish than I do : We contemplated putting the fish in the livewell and making a run back to the hotel for the camera, but I didn't want to risk the life of the fish for that. In hindsight it would have been so easy to ask those people to send me the pics they had via email. I kick myself everytime I look at the pictures I have) Yeah ... I remember it pretty well. ;D ;D
  16. Same ol' story. Those few bites were well worth the wait in my book. Fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :o That 10-2 ...... Holy cow. Never seen such a thing. "The one that could have been"
  17. avid .... I am "anti-spinning" just like you. I had the Twinpower and it was a joy to fish with ...... for a spinning reel. If I ever bite the bullet again, that's what I am going to get.
  18. I sent you 2 small clips via email. Hopefully it worked. Let me know.

I feel for ya avid. Your situation warrants the way you feel. I personally love Thanksgiving to New Years for the same reason you don't like it. My family is real close, but we don't seem to ALL get together all that often. Thanksgiving and Christmas is the time for that so I always look forward to it. That IS what the holidays are to me ..... Family time. I realize that my grandparents aren't getting any younger and my time with them is becoming limited, so each moment spent with them is chersihed. Who know's what will happen tomorrow??? Now New Years ..... that's a whole different story. That's family time for the day, and then it's friend time for the night. Plus my birthday is on New Years Eve, so that's always fun.
  20. Me either. Had my clocks synced too and three computers. ;D
  21. As far as I am concerned it's a wives tail. It's not like one day I am going to be like "Oh crap. The wind is from the east. I better stay in" Wind direction can be a sign of weather conditions though. That I believe a LITTLE more in, but there is still a lot of grey area there as well.
  22. It goes: Wind from the ..................... South, bass open their mouth East, bass bite least West, fishing is the best MY MOTTO: Wind from the ....................... North, go fishing South, go fishing East, go fishing West, go fishing Can't go wrong.
  23. As others have said, I prefer a faster speed reel for all fishing except cranks. My lakes I fish aren't extremely deep, but I usually fish jigs in the 10-20 ft range. The deep jig bite is one of the hardest bites to detect. A good rod (which you have) will help with that, but if a bass picks up your jig and swims towards the boat (seems to happen more and more the deeper you go, just my experience) you will need a reel that can pick up a lot of line quickly.
