  2. I have a 4600C3 that is around 25 years old or so. I fill the spool with 50# braid and use it as my punch rig.
  3. In my original post I said I wasn't superstitious, but I just realized there is something I do, or in this case don't do. I won't talk about getting s'kunk'ed. I'm afraid if I say it out loud then it will happen.
  4. Baitcaster on a 6'6" mh/f rod. Hook is a 3/0 EWG gammy tied on 15# mono.
  5. During the summer I usually fish with the spook jr., but as it cools down and the bass start feeding more I will throw the original size spook. Sometimes the bass go after the larger bait and ignore the smaller version.
  6. I use mono on all of my topwater baits. I'll even use mono on a frog if the water is fairly clear of vegetation. If there is thick slop then I use braid.
  7. Congrats! Catching a new PB is the best!
  8. Went out this morning for a few hours. I caught a couple of small bass and then this fog rolled in. The lake I was fishing is around 12 acres in size and the tree line in the pic is about 600 feet away from me. This little lake is very stumpy so I just dropped anchor and fished from one spot for about an hour until things cleared a bit. It was eerie seeing that fog roll across the water like that.
  9. IMO Zoom should have never stopped production of their old z-nail. That bait really gave a senko a run for the money.
  10. Hope everyone has a happy and safe Labor Day. I'm heading out to a little pond early in the AM.
  11. I've noticed a few times around here in the fall the bass want larger baits. This time of year if the 1/4, and 1/2 ounce sizes don't work I won't downsize I'll upsize to 3/8 and 3/4 ounce baits.
  12. When your casting remember to look behind you to make sure you won’t hit anything when you cast. Nothing kills a spool of line faster than hitting a bush that’s behind you that you didn’t know was there.
  13. I will tie directly to a pop-r, and I use a snap on spooks.
  14. Sometimes tubes will float if they catch the air inside them. If they won't float you can usually insert something inside them that will float.
  15. I fish with a black jitterbug. The bass don't always want it, but when they do look out.
  16. I'm in the camp with not using trailers.
  17. When you start getting good at pitching don’t get put off if you have an off day. I usually pitch between 20’ and 30’, but there are some days I can’t hit the ground.
  18. She’s going to grand lake for an orientation. I told her to check the lake out for me.
  19. My wife and I are down here in Tulsa dropping our daughter off for college. I’m going to miss her, but I’ll be glad to get back in Missouri out of this humidity.
  20. I’ve used snaps for years with and without split rings. I’ve never seen any difference in a crankbaits action.
  21. I usually don’t listen to anything while fishing. When I’m out on the water I like to hear what is going on around me. Sometimes those thunderstorms pop up behind me.
  22. I’d send it back.
