  1. Tequila sunrise Zoom Mag II worm.
  2. That is my best topwater. Second is a pop-r.
  3. I’ve gotten one bass over 3 lb and one bass over 2 lb. The rest have been between 1 and 2 pounds. The water is starting to go down now so hopefully the second half of the year will be better.
  4. Thanks Glenn! I’m going to try ribbon tails next time out. Bass aren’t hitting straight tails at all.
  5. You finally got one as the sun was going down and you said the lake is super clear. It could be that your not casting far enough and the bass are seeing you and getting spooked.
  6. Congratulations! Those are some nice smallies.
  7. I've had my best luck fishing Spro and Smithwick jerkbaits.
  8. Over the years I have noticed when I put a new skirt on a jig, it takes a while to start catching fish on it again. Usually after the skirt starts looking weathered a bit is when the bite comes back.
  9. Congratulations! In about 10 years I'll be there too.
  10. I just finished the article. It seems like one of the factors that kept this going was that even though there were signs that something was going on no one wanted, or cared, to believe it for a long time.

    Welcome to the forums!
  12. At least you didn't get skunked.
  13. Nice going! A new PB is the best!
  14. I have a lot of painted jig heads with the paint knocked off. I don't think it matters.
  15. Most of the people I see fishing are using spinnerbaits. I use a bladed jig to give the bass something different to look at.
  16. What's the bottom like, vegetation, and how deep would be my concerns.
  17. Small paddle tail swimbaits. I like the 2" sassy shads.
  18. Not really an accident, but some years back we launched from the ramp and we were using the trolling motor to get out of the no wake zone. All of a sudden we just stopped moving. Turned out we had picked up fishing line and it had gotten wrapped around the prop.
  19. My dad was a red head and grew up out in the sun. He had skin cancer removed from his face and lips. I make sure that I am covered up, or covered in sun block when I go outside.
  20. Sweet!
  21. Temp was 75 degrees at 5:30 AM when we launched. My partner started catching bass on a buzz bait right away. I was using a jitterbug and getting no bites. At about 5:55 AM I decided to change up the retrieve so I cast out over a road bed and just let the bait sit. After about 30 seconds I engaged the reel spool and when I did that the jitterbug turned toward me. That’s all it took. There was a huge boil in the water and about 5 min later I had a new pb of 6 lb 2 oz.
  22. Around here the bass like to watch the bait as it falls to the bottom. All you need to do is twitch the bait after it has been sitting on the bottom for a few seconds.
  23. Back in April and early May my most productive bait was a Mann’s baby 1 minus. Now it’s a toss up between topwaters and bottom contact soft plastics.
  24. I would post a pic but I can’t get it big enough so you can see the fish.
  25. Back in the 70’s we had Corky The Clown and Mr. Patches that hosted some local kids shows.
