I am not cool with Mother Nature right now.
The big problem around here before too long will be wind. This weekend we have a front moving through with winds expected to be in mid teens, and gusts up to 30 mph.

Warm rain fronts ? What to expect
It might still be too cold where you are, but I would try a topwater bait. A warm rain on a summer day may make the bass come to the surface searching for food.

Jerk bait techniques
I will use a steady slow retrieve, a jerk, pause, jerk, or give the bait a long pull with the rod and then pause it. The slow and steady retrieve, and the long pull with the rod seem to be the most effective.

What to do?
I've never had a problem with them, but I have broken several baits over the years on rocks. Everything from breaking a bill to putting a crack down the side of the bait.

Personal favorite reel brand
Over the years I have used Daiwa, Abu Garcia, and Shimano baitcast reels.

Lure color
Pretty much the same as what everythingthatswims said. I use different shades of greens, and browns for soft plastics when the water is very clear.

Has a bass ever taken away your rod and reel?
Years ago I was catfishing off of some rip rap. I cast out the bait and put the rod down behind a big rock. I was putting the bait away and I saw the end of the rod swing around the rock. I ran over the rip rap to get the rod before it went in the drink falling down several times. I got banged up a little, missed the fish, but I saved the rod and reel.

Wacky vs weightless senko
I usually start off with a weightless t-rig. If that doesn't produce I will switch over to wacky to see how that works.
-
Flippin’ Craw vs Jig
I have a problem losing jigs in rip rap so when I'm around rocks I will use a t-rigged craw. For everything else I use both and let the bass tell me which one they like better.

Snow!!! Got to be the last snow of the season.
We were suppose to get snow yesterday, but luckily it missed us.

I Thought 50 Degrees Was The Magic Number
As long as the water isn't frozen I don't worry about the water temp. I worry about the air temp and how many layers I am going to be wearing.

Post your best fishing tip
Your going to lose baits. A lure retriever can get a lot of baits back, but you are still going to lose some.

Baitcaster casting technique
I've heard that turning your wrist lessens the torque also. Sometimes I actually do it.

Line shy or not
I am wondering if fishing pressure has anything to do with it. I have used straight braid on larger bodies of water with no problem, and caught fish with moving baits, and with plastics on the bottom. When I use the same baits locally there is no bite at all with plastics. I have better success with moving baits, as long as the braid is small diameter. When I change over to mono and fish the same plastic baits, my bites start picking up.

What are your thoughts on $100+ swimbaits?
Nope. Not for me. Maybe in a few years when I'm retired and fishing more, but not now.
