  1. It’s usually what I start doing after the boat is launched.
  2. I used some last year on a damaged handle. I used them until I got the handle replaced. Never had any issues with them.
  3. Rain started raining here about noon yesterday. Ended last night, and started raining again real early this morning. It's been raining ever since. It should help bring the lake levels back up from the drought we had last year.
  4. You had one busy evening. Good job!
  5. A lot of variables. I can cast farther from a boat with a rat-l-trap when the wind is behind me than I can casting a split shot rig from the bank surrounded by tree limbs with the wind in my face.
  6. I don't worry too much about the bag. I dry it out when I get home. I do try and keep the insides of the boxes dry though. The best way I have found is to unzip my rain top a little, and when I open up the box I lean over it to block the rain. Not 100% effective, but it does keep some of the water out.
  7. Congrats on the new PB! That bass is a beast!
  8. I know this scenario very well. Next time you're on this pond look to see what the other anglers are using. Then use something different.
  9. I've used both for many years without any issues.
  10. Went out to buy some split rings. I ended up with two Zara Spook Jr's., one Redeye Shad, and a couple packs of replacement treble hooks. I forgot all about the split rings.
  11. I'll use a lot different retrieves before I change the bait, but sometimes the bass just want a nice steady moving bait.
  12. Man, that's a nice one !
  13. One more vote for the Pfluegers. You can't beat them for the price.
  14. If you're buying super spots I would stick with the 1/2 oz size. I would use chrome/blue back and a red, or orange, color for your lake conditions.
  15. Usually a crankbait, lipless crankbait, or a chatterbait depending on the conditions.
  16. I use to tie directly on, but over the past couple of years I have started to use a snap. I put a split ring over the R to close off the bend.
  17. Telescopic lure retriever.
  18. Usually a black Jitterbug, and a black spinnerbait.
  19. I remember sitting on the couch on Sunday with my dad watching Virgil Ward on TV.
  20. Jig and craw, Zoom Superhog, or a Zoom Baby Brush Hog.
  21. I have a couple of small lakes in a city park that are about 2 miles from my house. There are two reservoirs that are both about 2-1/2 to 3 hours away depending on traffic conditions.
  22. Walking the bank I usually carry three rods with me, and a Plano 1155 box. If I am going to be walking through thick wooded areas, the box stays in the car.
  23. My big one would probably be walking style topwater baits like a spook. I always end up going right back to the poppers and jitterbugs after a few casts. My number two would be reading the fish finder. If I am fishing water that I am familiar with I won't even turn it on. Last year I think I used it about two times.
