  1. Welcome to the forums!
  2. Those are some good ones.
  3. Sorry to hear this. RIP Ken.
  4. I use a MH rod for most of my heavier crankbaits, and when fishing around cover. For open water, and baits on the lighter side, I use a M rod.
  5. That is excellent this time of year!
  6. First off, those are cool boats! Secondly, the best way I have found to save money is to ask for gift cards for holidays, birthdays, etc. It really makes a difference when you are buying a $200 reel and only need to spend $30 in cash.
  7. I would downsize the jig and trailer first. Sometimes I have seen the bass hit the jig to kill it and then back off. When they hit like that I usually just let the bait sit for a few seconds. When the bass sees no movement they come back and take the bait. Thishappens a lot in cold water.
  8. All of my rods are 6'6" except for two that are 7'0". The ML spinning rod, and the crankbait trigger rod are both 7'0" long. I like the extra length for getting more distance when I casting from the bank.
  9. I organize the small box the same way I organize the big bag I use on the boat. I just carry less of each item.
  10. Around here that is clear water, but I don't know what that lake is usually like.
  11. Around here if small fish are breaking the surface then the big fish will be moving also.
  12. I have used different BPS rods over the years, and have never had any issue with them. They have all been great. When I am ready to buy another BC reel I am going to look at the PQ, but I am going to hold on to my receipt.
  13. I use 6 pound mono. I know a lot of people say use smaller line, but I like a line that is a little bigger just in case I catch something a little bigger.
  14. I pond I fished at years ago had redear sunfish that were around 12 to 13 inches long. Don't know how much they weighed, but we had fun catching them on red wriggler worms.
  15. We have some where I live, only they are quiet. You don't know they are around until you see one.
  16. I don't remember ever making a New Year's resolution. I am too old to start now.

I play a little. For a while I was playing the chess game that came with Windows.
  18. They should either cancel the catalog all together, or put out a decent one that gives some information on the products.
  19. I look for a bait with a black bottom that will stand out against the sky. Around here I have better luck with poppers than with walkers, so I usually start with a popper.
  20. 1/16 and 1/8 ounce Rooster Tails. I try and stick to the lighter colors.
  21. Best forum out there!
  22. Nice ones, Congrats!
  23. Congrats! That is a great way to start the year!
