  1. I have used Yo-Zuri hybrid and P-Line CXX. I have had no issues with either of them.
  2. Don't feel bad. This time of year if I get a bite I feel lucky. Especially after this crazy weather that just came through.
  3. That is a nice one! Does kind of look like a largemouth from the side.
  4. I have a lure knocker and use it maybe once a year. I use the telescopic retriever more. It always seems like when I am fishing from shore the bait hangs up 4 feet out in the water at a drop off.
  5. Nice catching and welcome!
  6. 2015 was a good year for numbers, and for size at local lakes and ponds.
  7. Good Going! That is the way to do it.
  8. Happy New Year, BR!
  9. We have to have clean the reels sometime.
  10. I have two of the S models. Very good reels.
  11. For bladed jigs I use the same set up that I do for spinnerbaits. I use a MH 7'0" BPS extreme rod with an Abu 5600C4 reel. The Abu is spooled with 15 pound Big Game. I use the same rig for swimming jigs that I use for fishing them on the bottom. I have 15 pound Yo-Zuri spooled on a Curado 200E7. The reel is on a St. Croix rod. Sorry I can't remember the model.
  12. I worry more about the action of my bait and what color to use with the water condition. I start off using natural colors. If those don't work I switch to the colors are different, or have high contrast.
  13. Good going! Way to close out the year!
  14. 2015 was pretty good for me. I didn't get down to the big lakes in the Ozarks as many times as I wanted, but locally I only got skunked twice. I didn't catch any bass over 5 pounds, but I got several bass that were between 4 and 5 pounds. My three biggest catches in the year were catfish all over 5 pounds. Two were caught on a Mann's 1 minus, and one was caught on a BPS Stik-O. Now if I can only do that with bass in 2016.
  15. Happy New Year! May everyone have tight lines this year!
  16. I don't normally target muskie. The ones I catch are by accident while bass fishing. They do seem to hit Rat-l-traps a lot.
  17. I look for the rod that will fill my need. Brand doesn't come into the picture.
  18. I have two of them, and I like them. They are easier to hold on to and more comfortable when casting a crankbait.
  19. I don't want to know.
  20. Good going! That's the way to break in a new rod.
  21. Wow! That is all I can think to say.
  22. Hello and welcome!
  23. Welcome to BR!
