  1. For a skinny worm like a Creme Scoundrel I like a EWG hook in a 2/0 or 3/0 size.
  2. I don't have any superstitions, but I have a check list I go down before each trip to make sure I didn't forget something.
  3. Over the years I have found that the best way to deal with yes men, and people that get promoted through socializing is to keep your head down and keep your mouth shut. Sooner or later there will be a top level management change. When that happens the butt kissers of the old regime may find themselves out on a limb. I have been working in the same job for 28 years and I have seen this happen many times.
  4. Tube or a jig. I try and get it as close as possible to the wall and just let it fall on its own with a free spool.
  5. In the winter I am just happy to get out on the water if there is no ice. Having cabin fever stinks.
  6. Well so far this year I have spent around $200. That includes getting the reels cleaned, new lures, a new tackle bag, and some 370 boxes.
  7. I have a 5600 C4 on a 6'6" mh rod. I throw 1/4 ounce all of the time and get pretty good distance with it.
  8. Nice trout! I'm hoping to get down to some Ozark steams and do some trout fishing, but its just too cold right now.
  9. Some nice cats right there! When I was a kid there was a city lake that was stocked with cat, but you could only use lures and plastics to catch them. I remember everyone using spinnerbaits casting from the bank.
  10. Sorry about the loss of your family member.
  11. I think you are very lucky.
  12. Aug 8, 2009 at 6:05 AM. Was throwing a black jitterbug and getting no hits. I was starting to reel as soon as it hit the water, so I thought I would change it up a little. I threw out over a gravel road bed and just let the bait sit until the water down where the bait splashed in. When I cranked the reel handle the jitterbug turned toward me, and that is when she hit the bait. Wasn't a big splash, just a huge boil in the water. The bass went 6-2 and that was the only one I got that day.
  13. IMO, Jan 8 should be a national holiday.
  14. Great self control!
  15. Way to hang in there and catch those fish!
  16. Around here the colors that seem to work best are chrome/ blue back, smokey joe, white, craw pattern, and something bright like chart. I have traps, spots, and shads. Sometimes it is not the color the bass go after but the sound. Not all of the lipless cranks sound the same to the fish. I can throw a chrome/blue back trap, and the bass ignore it. I put on a chrome/blue back spot, and the bass tear it up.
  17. Wow, I am really sorry to hear that. R.I.P. Cotton.
  18. You caught some nice cats right there!
  19. Gami's and Owner's mostly.
  20. I like them all.
  21. Congrats! Really glad that everything is working out.
  22. Plastic. Much easier to manage than pork.
  23. Check online for the correct hook size. I have turned a lot of floaters into sinkers by putting on hooks that are too big.
