  1. I keep them in the original packages that they came in. If the label gets to the point that you can't read it any longer, just write on the package with a sharpie.
  2. I tend to use the same ones that I use when fishing on the bottom.
  3. If the water isn't frozen over and the temp is in the high 30's to low 40's I will be out.
  4. I like to throw into weeds and brush. I would rather have too heavy of a line than not heavy enough.
  5. I'll be OK for a couple of months and then I go on a buying binge. Usually its jigs, trailers, and line.
  6. I will use 1/4 ounce and up. If I am throwing a light lipless bait in deep water I just let it fall longer. Kind of like fishing a jig.
  7. Nice Hawg you got there.
  8. I will buy the original in 15 lb when I can get it in a large spool.
  9. I use an old Mitchell 308 on a 6' med. action rod, occasionally. I hate fishing in cover with light tackle.
  10. I don't have any spots around here, and smallies are 1-1/2 to 2 hours away. Largemouth it is.
  11. Years ago there use to be a place over by the airport called Village Inn Pizza. Everything was made by hand by a chef. That was the best pizza that I ever had. Unfortunately that place closed down in the late 80's I guess it was.
  12. One of the best shows ever!
  13. I don't think he put soap in the machine.
  14. This year it has been a blue / black jig.
  15. I have used that method before and it really works .
  16. Went out Friday morning, and it wasn't too bad. Mainly a little light drizzle for about the first hour of fishing. After that it did everything from a slow soaking rain to raining cats and dogs. We didn't have a pump in the boat so we were scooping the water about every 1/2 hour or so. We boated 6 small LM in six hours, and then said enough. Checked the tackle bag this afternoon and it had finally dried out.
  17. IMO fishing in the winter is like fishing in the summer. You have to find them and get a pattern going.
  18. I use a lot of Booyah and Strike King jigs. This time of year I will add a Zoom Super Chunk as a trailer.
  19. I know how you feel. I think that I am on a first name basis with some of these dinks.
  20. Y'all forgot to mention my favorite "its over yonder".
  21. Night and early morning I like to throw a black jitterbug. After the sun comes I switch over to a green frog. If it gets cloudy I will start to throw a chrome popper.
  22. Looks like you had a blast down there!
  23. Great fishing, especially when there is some type of vegetation growing out of it.
