  1. Usually I will just t-rig them and tex-pose the hook.

  3. I always used live bait. Crickets and red wigglers under a bobber.
  4. If the weeds are a couple of feet below the surface you might try burning a rat-l-trap across the tops of the weeds. Swimming a jig is another method you might try.
  5. Hello and welcome.
  6. That is a nice bass!!
  7. I finally figured out how to change my avatar ;D.
  8. I've got a Rapala scale.
  9. Creme Scoundrel plastic worms, and the 1/2 ounce size Cordell Big-O.
  10. WOW that thing is HUGE!
  11. Welcome Welcome Welcome
  12. Thanks. While we were taking pictures and weighing this fish the boat blew into the bank. Gotta love the wind.
  13. Hit the water on Saturday about 6:30 AM. Wind was from the NW at about 5 MPH with gusts up around 15 MPH. Air temp was 54 and the water temp was 65. Things started out pretty good. We boated 9 small LM by 9:00 AM on t-rigged plastic, and the boat was doing OK in the wind. By 10:00 AM we were trying to decide if we should pull the boat in and walk the bank. The only thing I could throw with the wind were jigs and carolina rigs. Wind was steady out of the NW around 15 MPH with gusts up to 25 MPH. We ended up staying with the boat and catching 22 LM. All of them were 1 to 2 pounds except for this one that went 4-7. I got him on a jig along side of an old log that you can see behind me.
  14. Because people will buy them. Have you ever seen a pink fish?
  15. Always be thinking about what might be sitting around that bend in the road, and like Matt said don't stare at the road right in front of your vehicle. I can't believe the number of kids I see doing that around town.
  16. Hail isn't any fun either .
  17. Thanks for the post.
  18. I use to fish for cat years ago before I got into bass fishing. Cat are not line shy, we use to use gold 20 lb line, but for what you are describing I would up the line to at least 50. I prefer an 8' heavy rod rated for light salt water use, and a reel to match. The best baits I ever used were cut up bluegill, cut up shad, and large shiners. Cat are bottom feeders unless there is nothing on the bottom, then they will start to cruise around hunting for anything they can eat. I use to throw out one bait on the bottom, and one bait under a large slip bobber to find where they are, and how they are feeding. Good Catching!!
  19. Young enough to still want to but old enough to know better.
  20. I'd rather have gnats and mosquitoes than a gusty wind. You can always put on bug spray.
  21. I've seen them do that when the bait fish in the lake starts running low. They will hit at anything that moves.
  22. BPS Stik-O's. They harder than Senkos and don't tear up as easy. You can also cast them a mile.
  23. I voted submerged trees, but its a toss up between that and big deep grass beds.

    Those are some nice fish!!
  25. I throw c-rigs, senkos and heavily weighted plastics with a baitcaster. For light t-rigs, and weightless plastics I like spinning gear.
