  1. Check out the info about jigs on the Bass Resource main site under "Fishing Articles". There is some very good reading that can help you get started.
  2. If I'm going to a deep lake I will do this too. Pulling in a deep diving crank on a medium rod can feel like your pulling in a whale.
  3. Creme 6" grape colored worm, texas rigged with a 1/8oz. bullet weight.
  4. I've never lost a rig, but hats, knives, and weight scales have gone over the side. I always say that my Dad and wife are in the Rod Dropper's club. My Dad knocked a rig in about 2 years ago, and my wife just plain and simple dropped her rig into the drink.

Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas! I hope everyone gets what they want from the baitmonkey...I mean Santa
  6. Reel: Abu Garcia 5600C4 Rod : 5-1/2 foot BPS pistol grip casting rod Line: 15 pound Yo-zuri Hybrid I can slow roll with this rig and run them fast just below the surface. In clear, shallow water the shorter rod lets me cast the spinner bait out from the boat and hit what I'm throwing at.
  7. I like the original Creme worms. They are not salted so t-rigged and weightless they will sink very slowly. With a 1/8oz. weight, the front stays on the bottom and the back end usually floats higher.
  8. Years ago I use to use wheaties, hamburger, and limburger cheese. Let it sit in the sun for an hour with the lid off.
  9. Maybe its a mutant spawned from the local nuclear reactor?
  10. Merry Christmas to all and to all....Lets go night fishing!!!! ;D
  11. False. If this really did happen then Shimano would have a defective product on their hands and after a while no one would be buying their reels.
  12. The length of my tag end depends on what my line above the bait looks like. If the line is not frayed, kinked, or twisted the tag end stays about one or two inches. If the line is all chewed up then the tag end will be about six to seven inches.
  13. I usually start throwing jigs and 1/4 oz. to 3/8 oz. crankbaits when the temp goes into the 40-50 degree range. This year I have started using more tubes than crankbaits.
  14. I start off with a weightless, t-rigged dark color with a #2 size hook. I work it like a fluke with small starts and stops. If that doesn't work I'll add a 1/8 ounce bullet weight and start dragging it slowly across the bottom. When the senko starts getting beat up I'll wacky rig it.
  15. Crankbait: Storm/Cotton Cordell Lipless Crank: Rat-L-Trap Jig: Strike King Spinnerbait: Lazer Eye Soft Plastic: Zoom
  16. Sorry to hear that. Having a rig go into the water and not being able to get it has to be one of the most sickest feelings in the world.
  17. I need a new rod rack. My collection has outgrown my old rack and the excess is sitting in the corner of the basement.
  18. Busch Wildlife is infamous. Several years ago a fisherman is said to have snagged a body in one of the lakes along highway D. I don't know if this is true or not but around that time they started draining lakes along highway D. The official reason was the Conservation Dept. was making the lakes deeper, and adding rock points to them, but you never know.
  19. I'm surprised the amount of c-rig responses. I thought it was just me.
  20. 30-50 feet down at Bull Shoals, but around here its closer to 15-25 feet.

I will usually use a 1/4 oz, but sometimes I use a 3/8 oz. depending on the wind. The colors I use are usually black, black/blue, watermelon, and orange/brown. Always with a trailer.
  22. I like to texas rig mine with the smallest bullet weight I can find, usually about 1/16 or 1/8 ounce. If the tube will sink on its own then I go weightless.
  23. About 3-4 years ago I threw a spinner every time I went out. When I started fishing plastics, the spinners started collecting dust in the basement. Earlier in the fall I started using them again and I'm glad I did. They kept me from getting skunked twice this year.
  24. I need to learn how to drop shot. I keep saying that I will but I never do.
  25. I like to catch hawgs, but if I'm getting skunked I won't turn my nose up at 10-20 dinks.
