How do “you” retrieve a lipless crank?
How do YOU fish a worm?

If you use snaps, are the front split rings on the line tie really necessary on jerkbaits like the Vision 110?
There are baits that a snap can't be used because of line tie placement. Those I use an oval split ring and tie direct to it. I never attach a snap to a split ring.

Lipless cranks?
I enjoy reading threads like this. LV500 not making anyone's top five surprises me. oe

Do you carry multiple rods for the same tehcnique?
Hmmm, I've thought about this for a few days. 7 rods, 6 reels and 5 different strengths/diameters of line. Most days I fish 3 or less combinations. I never duplicate baits as is being asked. An 8' 3" light action, 2 piece spinning rod dedicated to small hand tied hair jigs. It remains tucked away in the bottom of a storage compartment and I re-purpose a spinning reel from a different combo when I want to fish "hair". 7' 6" ml spinning used for swimming various hook exposed plastics. 7' med spinning used for dragging various hook protected plastics. 6' 6" med spinning used for suspending jerkbaits and plastic top water baits. 6' 10" med casting used for various crankbaits 7' mh casting used for spinnerbaits Jack of all trades... 6' 6" mh (light tipped) spinning replacing either casting combos when too windy and replacing spinning combos when fishing baits deeper and/or heavier than normal. oe

Reel nut not gripping. Suggestions?
Taping over the locking nut and around the reel seat seems like a plausible solution when all others have been exhausted. oe

Daiwa is simply smoother than Shimano now
Snot will freeze during icy conditions, where as, snot on an exterior door knob during a hot July afternoon is much smoother.

12 pound flouro vs 14 pound mono
First of all, fluorocarbon line IS a monofilament line. What you are referring to as mono is, most likely, a nylon line. My second point, there are lines today that are made of both nylon and fluorocarbon that have traits that might be a good compromise. Do a little more research... oe

Should I use a leader with braid?
I fish with leaders because I love to tie knots in my fishing line and the adrenaline rush I get fighting what might be my next PB with line I've desecrated...

Oil viscosity in spinning vs baitcasting reels
I use 90wt lower unit oil in spinning reel bearings and some non-spool casting reel bearings. oe

Isle Royale and Voyaguers trip (lots of pictures)
My dad and I did the Isle Royale hike north to south (50 miles) back in the late 1960's. I don't remember the island being as "civilized" as you tell. Thanks for the travelogue, it brought back fond memories of a youthful adventure. oe
