  1. buy a new boat...
  2. jighead worm... any flavor
  3. buy a heavier salt impregnated bait would be my 1st choice... next would be a nail weight inserted in the middle of the bait (not the end as a neko rig if you want to keep the wacky rig action). oe
  4. The erratic action and shimmy on the fall (as Scott writes above) is the reason to throw this bait. Inserted nail weights leaves the bait more unstable than a belly weighted hook and is a more preferred action. oe
  5. I have landed several 40"+ musky on finesse baits with 6lb Fireline and medium power spinning gear. (because I back-reel) oe
  6. I have no idea how many bass I never feel inhale the bait... much better percentage landing 1lb.+ bass than little guys that don't fully engulf a bait. oe
  7. I convinced myself years ago that a longer (1/2"+) PE tag = a more trustworthy knot. oe
  8. Solid ned baits cast and fish better in the wind, hollow tubes fish better in the calm. oe
  9. a kirbed hook point... to more easily catch the flesh when setting the hook.
  10. That's alright, I was.
  11. I fish with a wide brimmed Tilley hat... other than that, its a pair of khakis and a long sleeved cotton/poly sport shirt... both of which will double to mow the lawn in. I think the rest of you are a group of "pansies" needing "special clothes" to catch bass in. oe
  12. Not a problem for those of us that back-reel... Not a problem for those of us that back-reel...
  13. I could fish one crankbait all day, but it would be a different "one" each day throughout the seasons. oe
  14. I net larger fish and keep them in the water until the hook has been dislodged and they're ready to swim away. The crotch of the net frame slides neatly around my boat gunnel cleat and allows much of the net to remain in the water. I carry a scale in my boat but don't carry a camera with me when I fish... oe
  15. I definitely want to see it... what species it was and where I hooked it. I don't care in the least to make a mental guess as to how much it weighed. oe
  16. If I'm going to harvest for my family's table, it will be walleye or large perch. I feel sorry for those left to dine on muddy tasting bass. oe
  17. Hard and fast rule for myself... I won't pay more than I can afford to lose on any "sight un-seen" product.
  18. Bandit 300 series. Purely anecdotal... using a snap seems to lessen my bite-offs. oe
  19. Over the years, several. Most memorable pulled me in my float tube around a small pond for awhile. oe
  20. The Caffeine Shad in siren (yellow) color might be more visible to you in dark water... oe
  21. Technology in reels have advanced more so than the PE lines. oe
  22. We were nice and calm until our gouberment started to subsidize all this windmill building... NE Iowa is similar to eastern Tennessee... dueling banjo music and all.
