Top Three Things You Should Avoid That Turn Off Bass Strikes?
OH NO, I've been using DEET as a fish attractant! That does it, this weekend it's back to Carolina Lunker Sauce Roger

Gps Contest.
A long time ago, I resigned myself to being outfished by my wife. But that makes me happier than it makes her Roger

When Should I Start Considering Night Fishing?
Some more about sound: After the splashdown of a big topwater plug, an age-old practice is to wait for the ripples to disappear. Are we waiting for frightened bass to regain their composure? Nope, we’re waiting for bass attracted by the noise to close-in on the lure (1st Twitch – BAM!) Roger

I used to do that too, but no more. One day I forgot I had a bass in my pocket Roger

Easiest Black Bass Specie To Catch??
I lived in 3 Atlantic coastal states, but was only exposed to spotted bass in 1 of those 3 states (Georgia). The limited distribution of Spots will likely distort the poll. Those never exposed to Spots are unable to vote them in. Between West Point Lake, GA and Lake Lanier, GA we found spotted bass to be the easiest black bass to catch. When we left Georgia, the spot population in West Point Lake was displacing the largemouth population. In fact, when you're targeting largemouth bass in West Point Lake, spotted bass are a pest. Cheap But Effective Smallmouth Lures.
Wow, that really takes me back! The only thing I did a little different was use a crank-&-glide retrieve. Thanks for the memories Roger

Any Info On Lake Teneroc In Fl?
Tenoroc WMA is a complex of phosphate pits involving about 18 lakes. Each lake has its own set or rules, so there's a litany of regulations. You really need to familiarize yourself with the regs and choose the lakes you'd be interested in. If you have any specific questions, I might be able to help. Roger

What Is Your Favorite Crank Bait Color
I really have no favorite crankbait color, but focus more on the pattern. I like to see a distinct color transition along the lateral line, a finish with defined scalation and if possible a 'shoulder dot' like a shad, herring, alewife ~ ~ Roger

Why Black/blue Color Combo?
> Black is a "neutral" color that blends with any backdrop. > Black is also the "darkest" color, which offers contrast against low-light backgrounds. Contrast is important in many situations such as murky water, roily water, overcast days & deep water. Though I never hear it mentioned, contrast is also useful when fishing in dense vegetation where your lure spends a lot of time in heavy shade. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Blue is the last color in the light spectrum to disappear (shortest wave length) > Blue is also a color displayed by crayfish in the molt (of moot value) Roger

Braid W/o Leader. Am I The Only One...
I was only speaking in jest, and normally fish straight braid without a leader. I just noticed that you're a new member; welcome to the BR forum Roger

Any Double Barrel Fans?
My favorite shotgun is my Remington semi-automatic, but there's great nostalgia attached to my side-by-side and over-&-under scatterguns. With respect to wingshooting, I've used them for pheasant, ruffed grouse, bobwhite quail, woodcock & waterfowl. Roger

Erie Deries
Several years back, the Erie Dearie was a very popular trolling lure for walleyes on Lake Erie. I'm not aware of anyone using them for bass, but I'm sure they'd work (nothing a bass won't hit). Roger

Missing Out On Something Sticking With Plastics Only?
Have you forgotten Roland's "Helicopter Lure"?? Seriously, if I were restricted to one soft-plastic bait for the rest of my life, it would have to be the "plastic worm". That way I'd get to keep my straight-tail worms, ribbontail worms, paddletail worms, sickle-tail worms & stickworms. Not a bad deal Roger

Do You Like Fluorocarbon Line?
John, I didn't disagree with your example and stated that I agreed with you. I also said that I was deviating from your tank example, in other words, I was moving on to another point regarding flouro. If I changed any parameters, they belonged to my example, not your example. In any case, I thought I made that clear, but apparently I didn't. Roger

Bass In Shallows After Lake Level Stops Falling?
In my view, a change in lake level has no meaningful influence on 'bass depth'. That is, if the bass were 5 ft below the surface before a change in pool level, they'll still be 5 ft below the surface after a pool level change. Although this forces bass into a new setting, they'll still be found at the same 'bass depth'. Roger

Autochart Vs Navionics Plus
When feasible, I'll make 25 ft passes on the X axis (horizontal) and 25 ft passes on the Y axis (vertical). In obscure areas and black holes I'll make diagonal passes as well. Using 20 ft passes would offer greater detail, but would also be more time-consuming, particularly on large sites. Roger
