  1. Line color will only matter is you change your mind about using a leader. Fluorescent Yellow is fine in conjunction with a leader. If you decide to go leaderless, you might be sorry you selected Fluorescent Yellow. Roger
  2. A free-sliding sinker creates the illusion of a snake-like predator chasing a morsel, in this case the bullet sinker. Any element of competition triggers aggression in bass. Roger
  3. WHERE'S "UNSINKABLE I" ? Roger
  4. When working a 'moving' bait, a leader isn't necessary, where straight braid may be used. Nonetheless, some anglers feel uncomfortable without a leader; those anglers should use a leader You admit to being apprehensive about joining braided polyethylene to fluorocarbon monofilament. I don't blame you. The best way to dispel that fear is to replace fluorocarbon with copolymer. Roger
  5. That possibility was introduced in a Tesla thread, and it was ruled infinitesimally possible at most. This I know from experience. Between the boat I now own, and my last two boats, I've been plugged into an inboard charger for 12 years; less fishing trips & vacations. That period encountered uncountable thunderstorms and Hurricanes Irma. Roger
  6. No. Just plug your 110 AC extension into your onboard charger. Mine gets plugged in as soon as I arrive home, and isn't disconnected until I hitch up to leave. Roger
  7. I would favor the 3/4 oz size, as @ww2farmer said; one stop shopping. Roger
  8. Even cheaper and nearly indestructible is the trusty 'Unpainted' jighead Roger
  9. We're talking here about the difference in .006" and .007" line (real world diameter, not advertised). I'd go with the 15-lb braid for its better abrasion-resistance alone, not to mention line-burrowing. Roger
  10. You've been formally introduced to the Bait Monkey, now there'll be a new reason for backing up the truck. Roger
  11. After Mister Twister was founded in 1972, I bought bulk orders directly from the factory (Teenies, Meenies, 4"Grubs~) They must have thought I was a tackle shop, because on more than one occasion, they sent me a box filled with bags of soft plastics. Oddly, there was never a shipping order or any accompanying letter, and I didn't look a gift-horse in the mouth. Roger
  12. Can't say I blame you for being skeptical, the profit motive doesn't inspire the most moral venues. I measure line diameter myself using a tenths micrometer. If you're interested in the diameter of a line, and I have that line, I'll give you an accurate line diameter (To the tenth if necessary). Roger
  13. It's the same answer to the question, which color do you throw the most? A blackish worm with bluish highlights Roger
  14. The difference between 10 & 15-lb braid is 0.001" (1/1000"). That's 1/3 the diameter of an average human hair ? Roger
  15. FACT: The difference in line-stretch between ‘line brands’, is far greater than the difference between Nylon & Fluorocarbon. Fluorocarbon lacks 'elasticity’, which represents line recovery in the opposite direction of stretch. Once fluorocarbon line is appreciably stretched, it does not fully return to its original length. The upshot of poor elasticity is line elongation and progressively thinning diameter. In turn, a loss in diameter results in reduced abrasion-resistance & breaking strength. Roger
  16. Did you also consider the Lowrance Elite Ti? I owned the Hook and the Elite, and prefer the latter. Roger
  17. I fished with Phenom worms as soon as they were introduced. Any worm that was good 'once', will be good forever. Roger
  18. It's safe to view 30-lb test braid as the pivot point. I like 20-lb braid for smallmouth, and use 50-lb braid in heavy cover (frogging, punching~) Roger
  19. It won't have any negative affect on action (many believe it helps), but there's a chance the snap may pick up a weed. Roger
  20. I'd suggest using an Owner Welded Snap, to toggle between your buzzbait and frog. Roger
  21. I've never counted all the freshwater & saltwater outfits we have, which are found in my den, in the garage and both bedrooms I really don't have any Go-to outfit, which changes with the seasons. Roger
  22. Roger
  23. A plug that I throw a lot is the 'Bandit 100'. Like the KVD 1.5, it also runs about 4-ft deep. Roger
