  1. Do you know that for sure??
  2. Totally agree. A single fish-kill can devastate a waterbody, which includes large and small waters alike. What it takes mankind several years to accomplish, mother nature can accomplish in a compressed period of time, when tons of fish carcasses will line the banks. For sure, it's very possible to fish 'down' a small pond, but fishing 'out' a pond is more illusory than reality. Roger
  3. Sheriff Judd is pushing hard for the death penalty (no light of day)
  4. I've never read about Uncle Homer's hookset, but that pretty much describes what I've been doing for years. Lot's of power with little effort. Roger
  5. I've never had any melting issues with Elaztech plastics, and have been using them since they were introduced by Strike King, under the Cyberflexxx label (3x). My only issue with Elaztech is when fishing a T-rigged bait. Even though I bury the point deeply, it doesn't take much pressure for the point to break thru the soft, jelly-like plastic and hang up. For this reason, I mainly fish Elasztech plastics in open water, where their durability & buoyancy is hard to beat. Roger

They're great too, but are usually referred to as 'toads'. Difference being, a hollow-frog floats, but a solid-toad sinks on the pause (e.g. Stanley Ribbit) Roger
  7. I don't know where this nutcase grew his rap sheet, but ending in Polk County will be his nightmare. Before this guy's killing spree, Polk County was dealing with riots in Lakeland, Florida. The Polk County Sheriff posted a public warning on Facebook, to all 'would-be' rioters & looters: “If you value your life, they probably shouldn’t do that in Polk County because the people of Polk County like guns, they have guns, I encourage them to own guns, and they’re going to be in their homes tonight with their guns loaded. If you try to break into their homes to steal or set fires, I’m highly recommending they blow you back out of the house with their guns." 'Soft' isn't a good word to describe Sheriff Grady Judd ? Roger
  8. My former tow car was a Subaru which served us well for many years. Today, I own a 2011 'Honda Pilot' which is my all-time favorite tow car. The Pilot is now on its 3rd boat, and still doesn't realize that it's not brand new. Roger
  9. Here's The Deal: TJ Wiggins (the triple murderer) was recently arrested in another crime, and released on bond. Because this crime was committed while TJ was out on bail, he doesn't have the option to bond out. As of today (July 22), all 3 are behind bars. Roger
  10. You pose an intuitive question, Todd. There's no shortage of articles that tout the vibration-transmission of dense fluorocarbon. On the other hand, there's little or no interest in addressing the 'fish-end' of the spectrum. (That is to say: If I feel her, she must feel me). Roger

Booyah 'Poppin' Pad Crasher - shad frog Roger
  12. During my saltwater escapades in the 60s & 70s, I used a ‘Chatillon’ scale. At that time, Chatillon was the flagship scale, and debatably still is today. Over time, I migrated to a ‘Brecknell’ digital scale, which I used for several years. Today I use an ‘Accu-Cull’ digital scale (55-lb cap w/ 38” tape). It’s not the Holy Grail, but does a fine job. Yes...I HATE batteries Roger
  13. Speed & Power move lockstep in 'opposite' directions. Go very easy on high-speed reels (i.e. IPT), because the farther you depart from a 'Handline', the more power you give up (that's physics). Roger
  14. Take the following advice in the spirit it's offered: The critical factors are your location, your bait & your presentation. When those things are mastered, your rod, reel & line will have remarkably little influence ? Roger
  15. For Crank Plugs (Billed & Lipless), an ideal rod IMO would be a 6½-7ft | Med-hvy | Fast. That would keep me happy until Niagara Falls. Roger
  16. Line-Twist?? I have no solution, for a problem I've never encountered Roger
  17. Spinning Gear Should Only Be Used For Finesse Fishing
  18. Great to have you back Here's to a speedy recovery Roger

A shaky worm shines with neutral fish. I use a 1/8 oz jighead almost exclusively. Roger
  20. Color is the variable most obvious to the angler, but the most critical variables are inconspicuous. Not so obvious to the angler is his lure's pinpoint location, depth, speed & action. Differently put, I can't fathom a well-presented lure of 'any' color destroying the appetite of a hungry fish. Roger

    Dis = This | Dat = That | Deeze = These | Dose = Those | Dem = Them | Dee uders = Trying to trap me - huh? Dis = This | Dat = That | Deeze = These | Dose = Those | Dem = Them | Dee uders = Trying to trap me - huh?
  23. For lightweight sinkers, I much prefer lead over tungsten. A lead sinker is wider than a tungsten sinker, which serves as a snag deflector for the bait. An expensive tungsten sinker will often result in a snag-prone shoulder, because the diameter of the sinker is smaller than the diameter of the bait (NG!). Roger

Th-at that You sure it's not "DAT"?
  25. I'd guess 3.8 lb x 18" Very nice bronzeback ? Roger
