  1. sounds like his friend has a house on the lake there. which means they have legal access to the lake. i dont think thats the problem at all as some surmise. the problem is running a trotline across the whole lake, that is wrong in my opinion. keep them on your friends property and you should be fine. dont run them out across the whole lake, or even to the middle. they probably dont need to be that long anyways. run several shorter ones instead of one huge one. in that case, across the whole lake, i dont blame him for cutting them. i would also try keeping your noodle in the water in front of your friends property, then their is probably nothing he can do about it. no need to argue with him though, in this case sounds like the old man was right and you were wrong. otherwise if youre doing stuff like that you need to be there to watch them and know all applicable laws for that type of fishing...
  2. Rebel Tad Fry and Rebel Crickhoppers work well for me on panfish. I also got some real tiny ratl traps i bet panfish would love, havent tried them out yet though...
  3. i typically keep them in the pack they come in
  4. finally got to do some fishing for the first time since 4th of july weekend this past saturday. hit up a small pond for about an hour. Around the entire pond from the bank to 3-4 feet out was covered in thick algae top to bottom, but i still could fish the middle and edges of this stuff, and thats what i did. started off with a weightless t-rigged baby rage craw in summer craw, and finished with a rage tail lizard in watermelon w red and black flake. both landed me fish and i only used one of each the whole time. i caught 6 altogether. 3 of them right around 2lbs +/- and the others smaller. not bad for an hour, since i went from noon-1pm. ive seen times at this pond where the bass wont bite anything except in the late evenings. also, the weather was decent, it was partially cloudy and mid80s id guess, so the heat wasnt too bad. definately needed that little bit of time that i spent fishing, it set the tone for a nice relaxing weekend...
  5. never leave something you value just laying around in the open to be taken. for all someone else knows is you abandoned it so they took it. hopefully you will have learned your lesson...
  6. i figured you meant season opener, was just teasing you there. Lemme ask you this, who didnt beat the Redskins last year? Rex Grossman is a walking turnover. Demarco had a bad game vs the redskins. 2.9ypc bad. Dont blame it on the fullback, Fiametta, he isnt even on the team this year. Oh, not to mention, your offensive line is a mess, especially on the interior. Plus you have very little pass rush outside of Ware. Miles Austin has a recurring hamstring injury too.
  7. so anyways, i cant wait for tonite. HAIL REDSKINS!!! I'm ready to see how RG3 does, i have tempered expectations since he is a rookie, but still i havent been this excited in a while. I will spend all weekend watching Preseason reruns on NFL Network...
  8. seriously, i want some of what he is smoking too. especially since he seems to think the cowboys-giants are playing in preseason, or atleast that is what he typed lol there is always good reason to doubt the cowboys. Tony Romo is a known choker. Garrett is a mediocre at best coach. The team has ZERO leadership. Rob Ryans defense isnt even a shell of Rex Ryans defense. Also, Demarco Murray is severly overrated. See how my skins defense shut him down last year? He isnt a threat to score either. How well does he pass protect? Can he carry the load for a full NFL season? or will he wear down and get hurt again? How good is that ankle gonna hold up to the rigors of the NFL? is it sufficiently healed to do so? He had one huge yardage game and some average ones, dont make him out to be the next emmitt smith.
  9. my neice came and visited us this summer and stayed for 2 weeks. she is 3 going on 4 i think. She would come ask me a ton of questions non-stop random and back to back to back to back etc...and i answered everyone of them even though it was kind of annoying after a few minutes lol
  10. thats great what youre doing. sometimes all a kid needs is to know someone cares and are willing to help them. that dink bass could set the course for him to be confident and positively impact the rest of his life in non-fishing ventures...
  11. deep water docks are usually a good bet to catch a few fish at SML. overall, its a really tough lake to fish. when its on its on there. but when its off, well, good luck then.... the lake has a good crawfish population it seems, try a jig and craw in the rocky areas. but remember, shallow rocky areas, the rocks probably hold some heat so you may not have much success in those spots. id try deep diving cranks as well...
  12. broke people shouldnt be buying Trokars either. if he bought some gamakatsu's once, then he could buy the treble hooks he needs too. im not broke but i still refuse to buy a Trokar simply on principle. ive proven to myself i dont need a trokar to set the hook in a fish...
  13. when i throw a live bluegill out its the jerking of the line by said bluegill that causes bass to start coming in to check it out. bass too small to eat it just observe...
  14. also another way, instead of brushing the sauce on, you could dip the chicken in it, then put the chicken right back on the grill
  15. i doubt a typical pond is deep enough for it to be the swim bladder. i most definately think the bass was choking on the perch. it may have been too late for you to save it, sometimes thats just how it is.
  16. i always like to add a little bit of honey or pancake syrup into the sauce, mmmmm
  17. awesome fish. ive seen guys catching them on tv and they look like a heck of a fight
  18. I have mono on all my reels except for one that has FC. I prefer mono to braid and FC. It works just fine on all techniques, and i've never bought into the hype of the reasons to use other lines. No, braid is not a must for frogs, hooksets work just fine with mono. Sensitivity is extremely overrated, and i mean EXTREMELY OVERRATED when it comes to lines(and rods but thats another story). If FC is supposed to be near invisible underwater then i wonder how come bluegill attack my line. Stretch is only really a major issue on smaller lines, but then again i like a little stretch, it can be a good thing. Line stretch never caused me to miss a hookset, because really, setting the hook with 12lb mono into a 3lb fish isnt really starting to stretch your line at all. The supposed benefit of non-mono lines really arent that major or beneficial to me at all.
  19. how come its always the expensive rods snapping and breaking....hmmm...should of stuck with that ugly stik...
  20. quit fishing altogether is really the only 100% way to never hook a fish through the eye again
  21. haha. Wildfire is a chinese company that makes scooters, fourwheelers, dirtbikes, side by sides, generators, motorcycles, motor powered bicycles, etc. Theres a HQ in PA and my uncle and his friend got dealer licenses. my uncle just wanted to get a few cheap four wheelers, his friend wanted to open up a shop and sell them. My uncle didnt get in too deep and sold off a few and kept one good four wheeler. his friend bought a ton of stuff and it kept coming in with missing parts, broken parts, not running, etc and you couldnt even get the parts to fix it. Yet the dumb guy kept buying more and more and lost a bunch of money in the deal... i think tipptruck is right, buy a car instead. hell i got a used pickup(91 chevy w/t1500) for $1000 a few years ago and it still runs great, though it has needed a part here or there. at your age you should be thinking a car, put it in your parents name, list them as the primary driver. you would be able to get to lakes over 20 miles away too. you should rethink your position. you can get a great running used car for 3,500 if you shop around. you already struck out on a scooter, why go down that road again
  22. that computer is probably too old for windows 7. id get rid of it and install XP.
  23. ive only seen them at walmart as far as an in store place to buy them...
