  1. Get rid of that Fish and Ski and buy a real bass boat, then you can store the rods you're not using on the deck. That's what I'd do.
  2. T rigged or the 10" version work really well as a swimming worm.
  3. Actually priced somewhere between a Steez and a 2011 Ferrari 458 Italia.
  4. Thanks for the heads-up. I hear the pre-release reviews are very good. Quadratic braking, a microlight frame stamped from scraps of the Roswell UFO along with 32 bearings, 4 of which are used in the construction of the box it comes in.
  5. Save your money and wait for the Gozillionaire to come out this spring.
  6. You'll want to stick with Balsam fir type trees as the branches are more spread out. Christmas trees don't tend to last long in my experience, most are falling apart by the 3rd or 4th year and gone by the 6th or 7th and those are good examples. Cedar or hardwoods are the better way to go. Make sure you remove any tinsel that was on the tree.
  7. You had a rod that was around 4-5 years old minimum become completely submerged in water for at least 72 hours. Try that with any rod, regardless of manufacturer and the results will vary depending on what condition the rod was in before you sank it.
  8. Haven't gotten the new catalog yet but those price drops!!. The only issue I have with the Johnny Morris reels is the size, more like a 200 series Curado and weight in the case of the signature series reels (too heavy). Otherwise they're fine baitcasting reels which will last you a long time.
  9. Remember when 150hp was the max HP for BASS and most other sanctioned tournaments? Most of the lakes haven't changed since back then. Still the same size as they are now but for some reason a boat with a 150hp motor was needed then but now it's not big enough.... ? Huh? :-?
  10. I have one very similar I got for Christmas last year. You charge the copter with the remote control. I have a hard time flying this thing indoors. I'll have to learn flying it outside before coming indoors.
  11. How Garcia has managed to stay in business 89 years is beyond me considering the junk they've attempted to peddle as fishing reels all those years. Go with the Silstar/Shimano Trevor.
  12. Look like access points. Those would be fine for speakers.
  13. Old and new version S reel - Old version SX - New version SX - :-? Old version STX - :-X New dual brake version STX - The centrifugal brake Revo's were great reels. Those with only the linear mag braking weren't worth the effort. Perhaps the new mag braking system will work better. Those with dual braking will be excellent reels.
  14. I also understand the Shakespeare makes Van Stahl spinning reels.
  15. I reviewed a PQ in another thread after stripping one down and comparing it to a Revo and a Pflueger reel. I don't think you'll notice much difference fishing between the Revo's and the PQ. The frame is nearly identical as is the guts except the dual braking. On sale at $80, with a multitude of gear ratio's, This is easily the sleeper, bargain reel of the year.
  16. I'm predicting I'll be shy by pounds and ounces of that state record LM that has eluded me all these years. Old version Revo STX users will try out a new dual version model and finally admit the old versions braking system sucks. There will be at least a dozen threads from Loomis guys asking about the return policy along with a lengthy story on how their GLX broke on a hookset. Other Loomis owners will reassure the owner that it's the best $50 they'll ever re-invest into a rod that originally cost $350. Side bar advertisers will continue to post photo's more risque than members are allowed to post. There will be at least a half dozen more threads on the validity of the Japan WR bass. It will snow for the first time in recorded history.. during the first week in May.... in south eastern Tennessee.
  17. Wind is currently blowing to 30mph. Wind chills are -11. I wish fishing today was an option. ;D
  18. Braided cable leashes. One on each side, cam anchored internally to a piston type absorber. Good idea and similar to what many race sanctioning bodies have with wheel tethers to prevent loose wheels from going airborne into the grandstands. I'm still having a hard time wrapping my mind around a V6 outboard motor at WOT suddenly winding up in the cockpit of the boat!
  19. The BPS reels don't get much love here but they are far more than a cheap reel, with proper upkeep and care it should last you awhile. No kidding. Maintain that Extreme reel and it should last you good long while.
  20. Virgil Ward Bill Dance Bassmaster magazine Fishing Facts magazine. In Fishermen magazine Jimmy Houston Larry Nixon Then add a number of experienced guys I fished with when I joined my first Bass Club. Have all been contributors.
  21. Have a great one Jack. 8-)
  22. 2 guys I'd love to spend a day fishing with are Bill Dance and Larry Nixon.
  23. This wasn't the case before? Pflueger and Abu were in direct competition before. With both companies under the same corporate umbrella, there is a change in strategy. Stop and think about Pure Fishing's withdrawal from FLW sponsorship. That's not jiving with what they've done with Pflueger adding the Patriarch XT, a refined Patriarch. If you looked currently at both Garcia and Pflueger's lines, Garcia has the very low end with the Black and Silver Max, then Pflueger picks up above those price points then the Revo's enter the picture at the $120 mark up to $170 for the STX, then the Patriarch and XT at $200 and $250 with the Premier taking top spot. While they seem to have most price points covered, there is a lot of jumping around between brands as you crossover different price points moving up the $$ scale.
  24. With the zipper, it was certainly unique. Then there was the very controversial Blind Faith album cover which I can't post here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blind_Faith_(album)
