fav. time to fish in the fall?
The entire fall season. As already stated, many, many guys have left the lake to watch football on TV or go hunting. Far fewer people, beautiful fall colors and that crisp morning air with cool daytime temps make it my favorite time of the year. Oh, and you can catch some decent fish then too.

New LCD TV screen cracked
As somebody who actually works in the business.... A typical 40" LCD panel will run you anywhere from $375 - 900 depending on the manufacturer. That's un-installed. You purchased it at Best Buy, if it's either a Dynex or Insignia brand the panels aren't even available. If you would decide to do it yourself, getting the correct panel for you model is critical as with most electronic parts sales, once you buy it, it's yours. With many manufacturers, there can be several different versions of a set even though the model number is identical. This has to do with these sets being assembled in God only knows what third world, East Asian country in multiple plants. Example: A LG LCD model 42LF11 can have as many as 3 different LCD panels, the differences being in the version (a suffix of letters after the main model number). The panels ARE NOT interchangeable even if they hook up the same. There are differences in the firmware on the main boards in the set that actually run the panel that won't allow interchangeability. I'd just go buy a new TV honestly.

Anyone know anything about Rebel Crank R baits?
Between the Deep Wee R's and Super R's, I can't recall how many fish I've caught on those baits over the years. The Super R is long since become a collectors piece but the Deep Wee R's are still around. They look basically the same as the did, not sure if the action's changed or not.

Decking a Jon boat
I added a floor, slightly raised approx 3-4" off the old floor on an aluminum 12 footer I had, mounted a pedestal seat and it was still a bit too tippy. Decking a 12 footer, unless it's 4' wide at the bottom, is a recipe for a unexpected swim the first time on the water. As W2S said, wear a life vest at all times if you do it.

From someone who has been sponsored and now is not....
In the mid - late 70's my cousin ran at Lakehill Speedway for less than a year. The same Lakehill that the Wallace bros. and Kenny Schrader were running on at that time. (yes, he raced against them). Ron was sponsored by my uncle's 2 local businesses but he had no idea what was involved in racing nor the costs. Ron, having something of a big mouth along with being a braggart, wound up getting himself run into the wall in his first 3-4 races. The costs mounted up, by the middle of the first summer, his dis-figured car sat in my uncles front yard as the monies dried up. He sold the thing later that year. Racing is the most expensive sport anybody can think of getting into regardless of the level.

Bent my prop this weekend. *Back in Business*
Approximately 24,000 miles east. I think going west of the Mississippi to get there is a shortcut.

Using a Bass Tracker in the wind
They're heavier thus more wind is needed to push them around.

Can a employer stop treatment thru your Insurance?
and people point to death panels when discussing government health insurance. Those panels already exist within the insurance companies already.

Shallow/Square Bill Crank Rod
Now we have to have a lure type specific rod? What's next? A different rod for throwing spinnerbaits with colorado blades, another for Indiana and a 3rd for willowleafs???? You're waay over complicating this sport.... ;D

Quantum smoke
Not sure I want a reel called smoke. I can already hear the comments when the first one's start failing.

phlueger patriarc xt
The new STX braking system (both Centrifugal and mag) is not the same as the XT's. Most all of the other parts are the same though.

Should I upgrade or update
Wrap some brush around it with SS wire and you've got a great fish attractor. X2 on tanking the Chrysler. Gas hogs, poor efficiency, tough to get service and parts are becoming scarcer. Upgrade for more HP which = more power with less gas used. BTW, any outboard is just one key turn away from blowing. It's just a matter of how many key turns that is.

Need Manual Yamaha 70hp 2008
Have you tried either manufacturer?

Boat recommendation
Given what you want, I'd personally look at those big water V hull aluminums that Tracker and the other tin boat makers sell. Sometimes called multi - species boats or Walleye boats. Individual seating and a more open floor plan than a typical bass boat. Avoid the Fish and ski fiberglass boats, they suck for storage. You will get more boat going aluminum than fiberglass.

What have you purchased recently????? 2010
I'm just going to post my grocery list to save time. Working on getting some really good photo's. Hang tight.

Chevy Volt
How much are the batteries and what is the general life expectancy? I'd be curious to know along with how long GM will warranty the batteries for.

More new boat opinions?
Glass vs. Tin - 1. What size is your tow vehicle? 2. Do you fish larger lakes or smaller lakes primarily? 3. How much do you have to spend. You can get more aluminum for less dollars than you can glass. 4. Are you fishing waters like rivers that involve frequent bottom contact with rocks or gravel. That is not a friendly enviroment for glass boats. 1 vs. 2 consoles. 1. Nice for the passenger. 2. Not so nice when you're trying to get longer rods out of the rod box on boats 18 1/2 -19 feet and shorter. The console tends to get in the way. 2 strokes vs. 4 1. Never owned one but the 4 strokes are incredibly quiet and run butter smooth. So much so I'm thinking of getting one for my next boat. 2. 4 strokes require more maintenance and some of that maintenance must be done by trained mechanics if there's a warranty involved. 3. The fuel mileage gap has really closed the past few years. It's no longer a real consideration anymore but 4's get better mileage. 4. 4's weigh a bit more and cost more than a 2 stroke.

Talk me down off the ledge, so frustrated
If you decide to jump, I've got dibs on the rod and reel.

What am I doing wrong?
No ****!! Whether you're fishing a T or not, you need to be more than a one method Pete when it comes to knowing how, when and where to use different baits. The fish were obviously in a much different mode (chasing down lipless cranks) and you're insisting on throwing a bait that would intice a strike in a completely different time and place. Stop thinking "you suck" at fishing crankbaits and LEARN how to fish them. This place has plenty of articles at the top on the how's, where's and why's to fish the baits and you can put that knowledge to use on the water. They're not exactly a bait that's in the "rocket science" category on use and presentation.

water getting behind my seats
When you're enjoying water sports, the kind where kids/adults are climbing in and out of the boat constantly, it's really hard to grasp just how much water is running off the bodies and into the boat but it's a lot. I'd glass or resin coat the new piece of wood and then make sure the seats are tilted up when you get done after a day on the lake.

I am back on the water
Love that color combo. ENJOY!!

Walking the Dog Upwards Instead of Downwards?
Very true. Both methods work. The real key in dog walking is the cadence coupled with keeping the correct amount of slack in the line. The rod twitching along with reel handle turning and how much you turn it (which results in the amount of slack in the line you've got at the start of the next twitch) is more critical than whether the rod is high or low.
