  1. If you go there check back. I'm curious to see how that stacks up to say, Bandana's.
  2. It's sad that leadership of that caliber is so sadly lacking in this country. I've been into management before and it sickened me to see upper level management sacrifice workers hours or benefits in order to line their own pockets with bonus money. kudo's to your bosses for doing the right thing. 8-)
  3. Those are the Pflueger style handles. Nothing blingy that I know of available.
  4. Nice one Greg. I was sure hoping for a few that size back in April. 8-)
  5. Man that one looks every bit of ten pounds. What did it weigh? ;D If I remember correctly, Fluke's big 'un in that pic weighed 9.96. 9.98 Thank you very much. : Looks like you should've gotten her before she went on that slim fast diet. Big head, skinny body. Reminds me of Kelly Ripa. ;D
  6. This is the General BASS fishing forum There is another forum titled other fish species. :
  7. The commodities exchange is worthless IMO. I has little basis in reality.
  8. You missed one, territorial strike.
  9. I need to hear some juicy gossip. Give it up.
  10. I know the seller Blaine. I bought from him too. Bought 3 All Star Titaniums. 2 weeks later no rods. A few days after buying those first 3, I bought another 3 in a seperate buy it now listing. Those actually got to my house in a reasonable amount of time. I complained about the first 3. He finally sends me rods. 5 rods I didn't even order. I contacted the seller and told him of the mistake, said I'd keep the second set of 5 rods. ( I wound up selling all of them at a decent profit). He made a deal and sold me those for dirt cheap. Made excuses about himself being in the hospital and his wife was in charge of shipping his ebay stuff. Bla, bla bla. I finally got the first set of 3 rods about a month late. I got such a great deal on the rods in the first place, which was made better by his cutting the price on the 5 rods that I could hardly complain. his ebay handle is something like nicech209 or something like that.
  11. You fish tournaments that have prizes for smallest fish?
  12. There ya go. 1/2 the price of suggested list.
  13. I just got a smoker a few weeks ago the the recipe guide that came with it listed Oklahoma Joes sauces and rubs on most of them. I'm not sure you can even buy that around here.
  14. You're making a mistake if you're paying list price for the reel. The Extremes are on sale way too many times throughout the year. I would never buy any BPS rod or reel at their suggested list price wait for the sales or buy used on ebay.
  15. Due to the current economic climate, the sport of fishing is no longer accepting applications nor resumes for entrance to the sport. In fact, we're considering laying off some fishermen.
  16. Yes. In the case of buyers, you've got a good case. Paypal usually rules in favor of the seller in situations like yours especially since the communication from the sellers side has been poor. Skip the dispute and go directly with a claim. The dispute option does not lead to a chargeback, a claim will.
  17. 8-) 34 boats on an 87 acre lake? I fish some T's on a 280 acre lake and 12-15 boats seems crowded! ;D I'm surprised you guys weren't getting your lines all tangled up and such.
  18. As long as she does look hot in one that's OK. If she doesn't, she'll know right off you're BSing her and could nix the deal at any moment.
  19. and choose the listings with pictures. Also, while I don't have this sort of issue, it's nice if you can show on the boats you're interested in things that might appeal to her. "See honey, that storage compartment right there can be for your stuff." "We can get a big mat for the back deck and you can lay out and get sun while I fish." "That boat has a glove box in the passenger console, we could put a little vanity mirror in it for you." "You know, they make pop up tops that provide shade if you wanted to read while I fish." Make those things seem important to you along with you wanting them to come along and she'll be like butter in your hands.
  20. One other thing. Gel jobs are not long term fixes. I've seen very few that went beyond 5 years that weren't starting to look aged. Most re-gels I've seen ran between $3-4k for a boat your size, at only $2250 dollars, that low ball estimate may not be much of a bargain longevity wise.
  21. http://trollingmotorparts.com/Default.aspx?AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1 http://www.motortechva.com/index.html http://www.northlandmarine.com/MinnKotaQuickRef.htm If you're mechanically inclined it's not too hard. The wiring harness has to come apart in the head, IIRC, so does the steering gear assembly. At that point you can undo the lower head assembly and remove it off the shaft.
  22. I've been using Yozuri for a couple months. It's a stiffer line similar to Trilene's XT. It doesn't come off the spool as cleanly as say a regular monofilament line or a copoly. Treat your line with a conditioner like KVD line conditioner. Let it really soak in. You should be fine.
  23. Personally, you've sunk an awful lot of money into a boat with a wiped out gelcoat. If it was me and you haven't bought the motor yet, I'd be looking for a new (used) boat and sell that one. Those 80's starfires were notorious for rotted transoms and stringers. Since you've fixed that the boat is more appealing. Throw a few coats of minwax helmsman urethane on it to make it look decent and sell it for $2500. Pair that with the motor money and the $2250 for the gel coat and you've got $10 grand to spend on a newer, better boat. Add a few thousand more via a small loan and you've got a pretty nice ride.
  24. Otters will utilize large trees at the waters edge or root wads for homes. They especially like old Beaver dens. The problem with otters is they are never inactive. They are on the hunt all year round. In winter, Once the shellfish are depleted they start going after fish since the crayfish are burrowed up for the season. Since most fish become lethargic in cold water, they become easy prey for otters and that includes bass. The fact that cold water fish tend to congregate in masses in deeper areas makes the pickins even easier.
