  1. Just look at reviews, Amazon is fine to buy line from. However x2 on checking Tackle Warehouse for what they have on sale.
  2. Those one knocks are like $30+ now, luckily I still have some.
  3. I think the TO LC lures are the same with maybe a few colors being different. Clunn himself said when the Luck E Strike ones came out said they were not a premium bait like the Lucky Craft ones.
  4. For the rod Falcon Lowrider 6'8" MH mod-fast rod which was designed to be an all purpose rod and gives good accuracy with decent distance. Reel a Fuego CT in 6.3 ratio spooled with Sunline Defier Shooter in 15lb test.
  5. Ya St Croix's factory in Mexico makes Triumphs and I think the only difference is Premiers are made in Wisconsin and look better too IMO. Now before they opened that plant Triumphs came fron China so maybe those are the ones people are complaining about.
  6. If you can find one Lews recently had a 6'7" medium mod fast rod with a short handle listed as a jerkbait rod. It was in the $150 range.
  7. I live in north central Indiana and just a basic black/blue jig and chunk trailer like Zoom has works about as good as anything until say late March/early April.
  8. Pflueger Supreme is the best spinning reel at $100 price point. Now baitcasters sure Daiwa Fuego or Shimano SLX are best in that price range.
  9. Daiwa did have a 6'9" medium fast rod in their VIP Smallmouth rod series that sounds like it could be the same but it also was discontinued several years ago.
  10. Look if it says made in Houston, Texas. Some All Stars were not made in the US, I think some of the Gt40s included. I have both a Team All Star 6'4" Spinnerbait rod and a 6'6" IM 10x Worm Rod 1, both great rods. BTW what craw is that ? That Brown/green pumpkin color is hard to find.
  11. I think all Abu rods, or any rods owned by the Pure Fishing company, are made in China.
  12. Keep checking ebay, used Citica 100dsv reels pop up fairly often and are cheaper to buy. That lineup of Citica/Curado reels was a personal favorite of mine too, the SLX reels I own now remind me of them.
  13. This x2. The standard SLX is a good reel and I personally like the old style brakes, but if you want more get a Curado.
  14. If you can get the St Croix for $80 then get it. Otherwise the BPS cranking stick when it is on sale.
  15. Save some money and buy a standard SLX .
  16. I bought something similar the LC DRS squarebill! I think it is going to be money.
  17. I have bought 4 new reels from them, Shimano SLX and Daiwa Fuego reels and had no problems except 1 was a SLX XG when I ordered a HG but the reels were brand new in the box.
  18. I've met him and his nephew, they are great people that are happy to talk fishing with you or take pics. Ya he knows smallies, but he is good at catching largemouth too, his classic win with a RES made it an extremely popular lure.
  19. St Croix MH 6'6" Triumph $100 or Bass x $110 would work fine as friggin rods.
  20. I have a 6'8" Lowrider MH/MF rod, it is probably the same as I consider it a strong M about like a St Croix M. It was supposed to be their all purpose rod. I do not consider it a jerkbait/topwater type rod, more like a spinnerbait/lipless crank rod but again it is all purpose just not ideal for most techniques.

  22. I just plan on fishing more, between work and virus stuff I barely got to go when I normally fish alot, and i did not fish a single tournament for the 1st time in a decade. Going to start on Black Friday by buying some stuff then as soon as Indiana hits 50 degrees and sunny this spring it is on.
  23. They can do both ya know, 5 biggest count but you do not keep them in the live well all day, or do like the big Texas Tournament use to do you can bring in your biggest to show the fans. Also agree they should be able to use rubber nets or rubber coated nets like the redfish tournaments.
  24. Ya I had one where the bill broke just like any DT crank, but they sure do catch fish.
