  1. When I used my Yo Zuri sw popper the only difference to me was it had no feathered treble. Seemed like the same action.
  2. Strange the "Weightless Worm" 6'7" rod was always listed as xfast before as was the spinning one "Bass Spin".
  3. I say keep the green beast and add another one to share with the kid or maybe a Citica E.
  4. Pflueger was always the best spinning reels for the money at least up until recently. The gold Supreme XT I had was better than the similar priced Daiwa and Shimano reels I owned. Unfortunately it is at the bottom of Geist Lake with a 6'6" Lowrider Herm spinning rod.
  5. X2 on Kelly JR prop bait as a gill imitator post spawn. Also x2 on Yo Zuri poppers. The LC G Splash replaced my old Zell Pops but recently in Florida I tried out a Yo Zuri inshore popper and it had good action, juvenile tarpon were smashing it.
  6. Don't forget the awesomeness that is Diwa.
  7. Some of it sounds like bad luck to me, I buy reels on sale or clearance that were originally 100-150 dollars and I have no brand loyalty though Daiwa seems to get the most purchases and I've never had a geary loud reel.
  8. 8 years ago they were both SCII now Mojos are SCIII so they will be more sensitive now, Premiers are US made and have full cork grips so I still like them better for moving baits where sensitivity is not an issue.
  9. SLX MGL is a $149.99 reel while Tatula SV is a $199.99, so I would expect it to be better overall. The real reel question is how it compares to a Curado MGL which is the same price, and yes Defier in 11lb would be great for those reels but I prefer the Defier Shooter it casts further and is smoother unless you are mainly skipping docks then Armillo would be preferred for it's abrasion resistance.
  10. 6'3" Team Daiwa S Topwater/Twitchin MH/F rod. Perfect for treble hook lures and is rated for lures from 1/4 to 1 oz. Tried it out as a target spinnerbait rod but it is too soft tipped for that.
  11. Or if you really want to KISS just use Indiana blades all the time. Purple worms catch bass everywhere since forever, matter of fact I believe purple is popular in Florida as an inshore color as well.
  12. I have had no problem with the Trilene knot slipping, but the similar Clinch Knot would slip with Suffix Siege that I have used in the past.
  13. Yes Medium fast as the 3" bodies come with a true 1/4oz jighead and are labeled as saltwater beetle spins. The smaller one I'd use spinning tackle.
  14. Any M/F rod will do. I use a 6'6" rod.
  15. I've caught more on the LC G Splash than any other and I've tried many but a small one that casts well-maybe the Jackall one it lists as 5/16ths.
  16. Alot of red ears and rockies hit em, try the 1/8th size and you really get em going.
  17. If you only need a slightly shorter rod the MLXF does have a softer tip and is rated for 1/16th lures so that would be the choice IMO.
  18. Sunline Defier Shooter casts better than Armillo which will coil up on you but has better abrasion resistance. Shooter is the best copoly/mono out there IMO if cost and availability are not an issue. McCoys and Gamma copoly are about as good as the Sunline.
  19. The Kast King Hiwassee sunglasses are the best under $30 you can buy.
  20. Your reel is a good choice for inshore, but I would use a saltwater rod, and no you do not want much over the weight the rod is listed at.
  21. It is just as smooth as the SLX and Fuego CT reels I have owned ...time will tell on longevity.
  22. Now that it is $100 instead of $120 I think my BPS inshore reel is best for the price. Casts as good as the SLX with higher drag rating and more line capacity, has dual brakes but I just use the centrifugal one.
  23. Reels the Daiwa Coastal series are nice and come in 150/200 sizes the Penn baitcasters get good reviews and come in 200/300/400 sizes. Rods St Croix or Falcon.
