  1. I really do not fish jerkbaits alot, but the one I have success with is the Silent Pointer 95. Caught a few on 78/100s but that Silent one seems to be best.
  2. What happened to the DT Thug? Caught bunches of smallies on that lure.
  3. I am one who has not caught a thing on a RES, but I tear em up with a 1/2 Xcalibur one knock. I bought a 2 tap in sexy shad to try that out with the Xcalibur being discontinued, ya I know there are Booyah knock offs but not in sexy shad or oxbow so hopefully the 2 tap works. I want to try some of the Yo Zuri ones too.
  4. Yes they cast the same, but if your going to be pitching jigs with it too I would get the Tat.
  5. I have both Fuego CT and a Tatula CTs, the Twing will pitch lures easier/further IMO, for regular casting I think there is very little difference.
  6. Instead of custom why not St Croix Mojo Inshore 7'11" H 3/4 -3 oz lures?
  7. I bought the KastKing Hiwassee for $30 and they have a decent lens and frames. I have only had them 100 days but the coating has not wore off yet so I think they are great for the money.
  8. No power gear (5x) listed on the new ones.

I probably still have some of those night crawler pre rigged Creme worms and also the pre rigged purple white stripe worm(not sure who made it)had them both in the 80s as a kid. Then I upgraded to the purple Snag Proof worm, and have a few of them around too. Creme is still around, or the name is anyway I have some of their senko imatation from Walmart which are $1 for 5 worms.
  10. I have the same problem from all the turning wrenches on cars/trucks and even jets in the Navy, except mine led to trigger finger and some pain with it not arthritis. Might try the Winn grips, thanks for the tip.
  11. X2 on the Cabelas gloves
  12. I have the reel and set 2 brakes on. Use the cast control knob and set where your lure barely comes down on own.
  13. Is not the signature spinning a Daiwa B&G with Johnny's name? Regardless the JM reels are pretty good , they are especially a good deal when on they are on sale.
  14. I use a St Croix Premier 6'6" mod-fast glass casting rod, which unfortunately is discontinued, for square bills. You should have a similar action with your Croix spinning rod and I think you will be fine unless your using bigger plugs or in heavy cover then I think you would want a casting rod. Plus side is you can cast Rapala Shad Rap/Original Minnow lures.
  15. I like Lucky Craft, but they are expensive too, so I am going to say Rapala Xrap. My buddy does good with some Yo Zuri jerkbaits so $7-10 lures.
  16. That is basically what I am saying, they can have the basics like a depth finder, temp, GPS maps...but let's see if they can pattern fish and figure a lake out, instead of seeing bass on a screen, using sound equipment to turn them on etc. It is getting more like catching than fishing. Rick Clunn, one of the all time greats has had similar comments at times.
  17. You could buy a St Croix Avid MHXF 7' or in Avid X 7'1" 5/16-3/4 oz lures for just over $200. It is a true MH.
  18. I've been saying this for years. If the pros are so good they should be able to fish tournaments with a basic 2D FF and GPS with no waypoints saved. Then we can see who really is good and who is not.
  19. I had Pflueger reels made back in 2012-14. They were compact all metal reels that were just as smooth and quiet and casted for just as much distance and lasted just as long as the Shimano Citica and Curado D/Es that I owned. Daiwa, Shimano and the Doyo line are all going to perform and last about the same at their common price point.
  20. Thanks for that info, I've been meaning to try out Xzone stick baits and tubes. For me the Ocho works well, so did the cheap Creme stick baits I get at Wally World, want to see if Xzone or Missile Baits out produce them.
  21. I would like to see the Patriot rod with more options, like say full grips. Who makes them...St Croix?
  22. I am on board with getting one of those KVD reels too. His rods are out now so I think it will be available by Black Friday.
  23. I have one of those but cannot seem to get bit on it.
