sorry, but i dont understand.... i asked if you can move the settings on the cent brakes, and you answer "no", but then you mention you can rotate the side plate off and engage/disengage the brakes... so, you can actually adjust the cent brakes as well as the mag brake with the dial on the left side plate??? so this reel has 3 adjustments you can make, the centrifugal, the magnetic, and the cast contol knob???

thanx everyone!! thats good info. i read the KVD has dual brake system, but i assumed the centrifugals are set... or can you move the settings? i have never messed with them, i thought since it had external brakes, those were the only ones you could adjust.... so, i actually have my reels in the lower position, and i make most of the adjustments with the cast control knob... but sometimes, specially on windy days or with some lures, i need to adjust the other brakes as well... on the Quantums i adjust the knobs, on the H20 i just take more care with my thumb and adjust the cast control knob as best as i can, nly once i have moved the centrifugal brakes.... anyways, i see everybody likes the Revo S, and i have read a lot of comments about it being the perfect match for the Veritas.... so i guess ill get one of those and learn how to use it... i was not too convinced, but having read all of the opinions on it and cent brakes, i think it is worth a look. thanx!!

thanx everyone for your comments!! well, in fact, im not even sure magnetic brakes are what i like... i have a Quantum KVD: http://www.basspro.com/Quantum-KVD-Signature-Series-Baitcast-Reels/product/10210407/ that i really like... i use this reel on my worm rod. on the left plate it has a knob with 10 settings, which makes it very easy to adjust and change the adjustment for each bait weight. im assuming this is the magnetic brake. i also have a Quantum Code, and again, on the left plate, it has a knob, but the knob only has 4 settings. i normally use it on the most loose position, or the one next to it. but if im drastically changing lure weight, i can easily change to the other positions. and finally, i have the H20 Mettle. this one has the centrifugal pins. i dont remember correctly but i think i have only 2 of them ON and 4 OFF, as when i had 3 and 3 i was lacking casting distance. mostly i make the adjustments with the smaller knob besides the reel handle. but, on my Quantums, i can easily adjust using the other brake, while on the Mettle its harder to do it, and i risk getting debris or water inside the reel, or worst, dropping the reel plate to the water.... thats basically what i dont like about the mettle. i really like how the reel casts, i rarely get a backlash, and overall im happy with it, i use it for cranks and i would say it is a great reel for the price.... but now i have 2 rods, a Veritas and a Bucoo, and one of them is missing a reel (im installing the Code on the other one)... i was thinking putting the Code on the Bucoo, and getting a new one for the Veritas and use it for spinnerbaits..... on the 3 reels, i set the brake on the loose side, and then adjust with the small right side knob, and take care to stop the line with my thumb. so, even when im not messing with the brakes that often, i feel the centrifugal brakes are not as convenient...

thanx... ill look for other options then, and if i cant find i guess ill go with this one... any other reel you could recommend, preferably with externally adjustable magnetic brakes and within $130?

hey. im considering getting this Revo S reel to pair it with a Verita MH and use it mainly for spinnerbaits. i heard good things about the Revo SX, but i think the Revo S could work, and its a little bit cheaper. i throw a lot of spinnerbaits, and my previous rod was really heavy, thats why now im looking for a lighter setup. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Fishing/Fishing-Reels/Casting-Reels|/pc/104793480/c/104760180/sc/104259780/Abu-Garcia-Revo-S-Casting-Reel/1395982.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Ffishing-fishing-reels-casting-reels%2F_%2FN-1102352%2FNs-MIN_SALE_PRICE%3FWTz_l%3DSBC%253BMMcat104793480%253Bcat104760180%26WTz_stype%3DGNU so, i would like to know how do you like it, and, what type of break does it has?? i dont really like the 6 pin centrifugal brakes, i have one in my H20 Mettle, but i dont adjust it much.

Do You All Have One Crankbait Rod, Or Two??
very intresting info.... but, maybe if you could explain the difference between the rods you own, you could enlighten the newbees like me a little more. for example you could list your crankbait rods, and explain their use. 1) topwaters, XXXX rod, XX power, XX lenght 2) shallow cranks, XXXX rod, XX power, XX lenght 3) mid divers 4) deep divers 5) jerkbaits maybe its asking too much, but it would be really helpful, at least for me, who uses a 6´6" M glass silaflex for all cranks except the very heavy ones, from topwaters to deep divers, lipless to squarebill to regular bill, i dont know better so i use the same rod for them....

Strapping Your Phone In On Bumpy Rides On Windy Days

Falcon Bucoo For Cheap At Academy
haha, i know, having just one rod for everything would tako out one of the most fun parts of fishing.... and that would be shopping for fishing supplies.... i mainly use 3/8 and 1/2 oz spinnerbaits, but up until now, used a MH rod for all of them... i had good accuracy with it, to put the spinnerbaits in tight spots and send them under overhanging limbs... i dont think i can do that with a softer rod... i know with my crankbait rod i couldnt do it at all... but again, i guess i will have to try both rods and a lot of lures to see what the rods can do.... now, i have a Quantum Code reel that is going on one of the rods, i think the veritas but its not defined yet... what would be a good reel in the $100 range for the other one??

Falcon Bucoo For Cheap At Academy
thanx. this is my first dedicated spinnerbait rod, and i thought i needed a MH for them. i guess i will have to try them with both rods to see what i prefer. i have never fished wacky or weightless worms, all my worms, or plastics for that matter, are always texas rigged... but im not against trying something new, so i guess i will be doing a lot of experimenting this fall...

Falcon Bucoo For Cheap At Academy
is there a problem with the reel seat on the veritas?? i have not put a reel on mine yet, but the "seat" looks different, not like any reel seat i have seen... unfortunately my veritas and my bucoo are completely different, the first one is 6"9´ MH, the second one is 7´ M, so i feel there would be no real comparison... but i guess each one can have its place on the boat, and hopefully i will land a bunch of fish with each... since i fish a lot of spinnerbaits i think i will be using the veritas a lot, but i also have some cranks i plan on tying to the bucoo as well....

Falcon Bucoo Microguide, 7´ M, What For?
thanx!! i think ill put a Quantum Code on it and test it with different baits to get a feel of it and then decide what to use it the most....
-
Falcon Bucoo For Cheap At Academy
well, returning it is an option, but it implies a 3 hour drive... so i would rather put a reel on it and use it for something... now i just need to figure out what to tie to it....

Falcon Bucoo For Cheap At Academy
thanx. so, if you choose the wendlandt for plastics, and the bucoo for spinnerbaits... what would you do with the veritas?? i think i will be able to decide once i can get to the water with both rods... so far, i have only unpacked them and handled them around in the house, but i have not even mounted a reel on any of those 2 rods yet....

Falcon Bucoo Microguide, 7´ M, What For?

Falcon Bucoo For Cheap At Academy

Falcon Bucoo For Cheap At Academy
and i got it by accident... i was just walking through the rod aisle, without looking at anything in particular, basically cruising to get to the other side, when a yellow rod catched my eye... i recognized it as a Skeet rod, so i stopped to look at it closely, since i had only seen them online.... then, this man comes to me and tells me the Tournament Choice rods lying next to the Skeets were great to have if you needed a rod to lend to a friend or something... i tell him my friends have their rods, and i dont really have a lot of friends who fish, and that i was just hanging around... then he directs me to the Bucoo (i had already walked past them without noticing) and says "well, you may take a look at this ones, they are just $30, originally retail for $130.. i already have one in my cart"... so i checked them, inspected them to see if they had any problem (they didnt), and immediately took the last 2 they had in stock.... so, angels do exist haha

Falcon Bucoo Microguide, 7´ M, What For?
hey, i just bought me a Falcon Bucoo 7´, M, with microguides... i really bought it just because of the price ($30) , but i really dont have a need for it that i know of... i have a Browning Silaflex M 6´6" I use for cranks, a Falcon Clark Wendlandt MH 6´6" for all plastics (worms, lizzards, senkos), and just got me an Abu Garcia Veritas MH 6´9" for spinnerbaits (havent tried it yet, i got it this weekend as well).... so, what could i use this 7´ M rod for?? maybe deep diving cranks?? it feels (without having fished it yet) similar to my other MH Falcon, but way softer than the MH Veritas.... so what would you tie to it?? of course i will need to get me a reel for the rod, but that will be later, when i decide the better use for this rod... if someone has this rod and can share their experience, or what they use it for, it would be very helpful....

Working With Fiberglass
thanx!! i knew making the mold was difficult, but i didnt think it was THAT difficult... thats why i dont want to make the mold, i would rather use plywood and then glass it, leaving the plywood in there. i used to work at a shop where they did fiberglass parts for the Cessna aircrafts, and yes, it was a very laborious work to get it done right... i havent checked the costs, but i think it would be cheaper than the $1750 they want for an original brute conversion... on the design i have taken into account the fiberglass thickness, and i have discussed with my friends and they say it can be done, even though they have never attempted something this big, they have fiberglass experience on smaller proyects... so, now im not sure if i want to attempt this... winter is coming, and having the jeep as a daily driver its not fun with temps in the 50s... i already have the tarp setup shown in the second pic, but its not as wind or waterproof as i would like...
