  1. Sure I will clarify. I will mainly be using weightless senkos possibly 1/8oz shakyheads. I figure I will be using 8lb yozuri hybrid or a braid to 10lb fluro leader. Lets say I use the 8lb hybrid, I just want enough backbone to be able to move the fish, but then not worry when the fish surges at the boat to have enough give in the rod(coupled with my drag). Hope that helps.
  2. I recently upgraded to a 6'3" M aetos for skipping docks and other low hanging stuff. When I received it, I worried that it did not have enough backbone to get fish out of possible cover. I am able to return this and change to a MH, but then I worry it will be too stiff and won't have enough give when a fish surges on lighter line. I am not able to handle the MH in hand, so I am turning to you guys for input and possible experiences with any of this. I keep reading what others do and it seems pretty split...hopefully I can gain some insight here. Thanks again.
  3. im a fan of owners wacky hooks in 1/0
  4. Just picked up a Tournament MB and had no issues despite the seller only have 1 positive feedback. I think if you pay with Paypal you can feel safe that if the item is not as described you can get your money back.
  5. Anyone have any experience with these rods? They are 40 dollars now after rebate...just wondering if people had any opinions. Thank you.
  6. i have not i was looking at the avid 6'9" ml the *** 6'10" ml and the elite tech 6'10" ml...just wanted to see if any one had any experiences with rods with the similar soft tip as the crucials since i have not held any of these rods in hand...selection is not good at the bps near boston...and thats about all there is...haha
  7. im partial to the daiwa line of spinning reels have the lexa 2500 will probably pick up a procyon ex soon!
  8. i notice that with a dropshot on a 1/8 oz weight it doesnt seem to throw well. after 1/4 i feel its ok
  9. I have a medium power shimano crucial rod in 7'2". I am looking for a ML in a shorter length. I am wondering if there are any brand rods that you all have had used before that has the same soft xf tip but in a lighter power. Any leads would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
  10. hmm 106 usd...not bad haha
  11. where do you get your 10 dollar off coupon? i can never seem to find those...
  12. i went out today...got a better look with the sun...looks like the weeds are growing up fast...probably 1-2 feet below the surface...dropshot is out of the question now...going to try a wakebait! and a soft jerkbait...i havent seen anyone throw one so shoud be ok...what about a slow retrieve on a keitech fat impact weightless?
  13. thanks for all the ideas everyone!
  14. ill give topwater a try, the slimy green is on the bottom and kind of dispersed throughout the water column...so frustrating...trying to get away from the senko haha
  15. I have been fishing a nearby pond about 60 some acres from shore. The fish appear to be postspawn. Been catching them pretty well on weightless senkos on the first break from shore. It appears the weeds are starting to grow at that edge and the fish are positioning there. My problem is that when I try other things, I get a lot of pond scum, the green slimy stuff. When I was fishing a spinnerbait it would catch on this stuff, Texas rig, etc...especially on the way back to me. Since I am not on a boat I cant cast parallel to the edge, so I have to go through the 20 feet from shore area full of this scum. Any ideas from those that bank fish how you would target the fish and not deal with picking at the scum every other cast? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. -Jeff
  16. thanks guys for all the ideas, im pretty sure these are all fish preparing for the spawn. ill have one rig with a slow presentation and another fast and see how it goes. on the jerkbait most came on the pause and they were not hard hits
  17. thanks for all the ideas will try again in a few days !
  18. hello guys just hoping to get some input on this situation so ive noticed a lot of cruising bass and also some bass resting at the edges of the pond next to the bases of the trees. the water has risen so that any time the base of a tree is at the edge of the water there seems to be a high chance there is a bass resting there. this is all along the northwest edge how would you go about catching them? i have casted a jerkbait out and worked it back and it appears ive caught a few prespawn females, one picked up a nightcrawler on a bobber that was floating near to some trees. how would you approach them from the bank? every time i get close they spook and/or they ignore my weightless senko. any tips/insight would be appreciated. -jeff
  19. has anyone fished the tournament MB the one below the tournament lite...just curious what everyone's thoughts are on that
  20. i didnt purchase but i added it to my cart and it was 69 and the 10 gift card in checkout. and then the 10 rebate would be after i received the item? if that is true...then its a great deal...if not still a pretty good deal haha
  21. just a suggestion gandermountain is having their tour kvd cranking rods after gift card rebates for 55 dollars. might be worth a look
  22. you can probably find the tatula rod for around 100 on amazon and the *** 13 can be had for 50-60 bucks after the rebates at gander mountain. i think those are 2 solid rods for you to consider:)
  23. i have the bag you listed. it fits most of my stuff that i need as a co-angler in there. and its relatively portable in my opinion. i think its a great bag for the price.
  24. i believe the biggest difference between the mg and the tournament is the braking single vs. dual on the tournament
  25. i heard that takahiro was using 7lb sunline fluoro for dropshotting, but not sure which exact fluoro from sunline
