My revo stx doesnt seem quite right. Last season it was screaming when I was casting it and I am pretty sure that meant it needed oil. I lubed it up but it doesnt seem 100%. I can hear a subtle abrasive sound when I reel. It isnt a gritty sound but its like I can hear the spool spinning. Most importantly the thumb lever is very tight. Is there any way I can lighten it? I know you can do it with the trigger on a gun so Im sure it is possible with a reel.

Make sure they are both powered correctly. Some of the older procrafts were a little heavy. Get the boat you are going to keep and is easy to upgrade. Dont get something you cant see yourself using for years.

When all else fails you can throw big jigs on it.

Theyre legit. They'll actually call you if their product sells out. I bought 100+ senkos from them when they were on sale.

Sell it, their spinnerbait rod is better for frogs or a dobyns 735c.

dobyns 735c is what I use. You may want something with a fast instead of an extra fast tip. Its all about personal preference.

As a co angler you really should be pre-fishing a tournament. Try and link up with a boater before the tournament. Also if you pre-fish with someone you arent fishing the tournament with do not give up their spots. Also if you do well do not give up the spots of your boater. Yo zuri 15lb is some of the worst line ive ever used. My 12lb isnt bad but there are much better options in the price range. I emailed them about how poor the quality was on my recent spool and havent heard back from them yet.

Prefishing doesnt matter. Bring the entire bag with you. By tournament day you should be able to get it done to two boces and a speed bag. plano kvd elite bag and the biggest speed bags plano makes.

Not sure if anyone said it but the help at bps can be hit or miss. My bps had a lot of really good locals that used to work there ( people I knew and have fished with) and some that are just ok. Last time I went there the people were really helpful but one guy at the reel counter was clueless. I had my gf that doesnt fish help me find shad raps while I asked the guy at the counter where they kept their wiggle warts. He had no idea what I was talking about. My gf came back with shad raps and wiggle warts because they were right by eachother. Seriously dont know how he worked their not knowing what a wiggle wart was.

Honestly no. My cheaper reels have the same quantity of bearings as my high end reels. The only difference is the quality of the bearings. You could get a few decent reels and simply upgrade the bearings. Ive seen videos of people upgrading the bearings on that reel as well. Why spend the money if you need to change them out? I do see the appeal of some of these reels but honestly the prices are getting ridiculous

We use 8lb or 6lb fluoro for baitcasters. it can be done and will work with 10lb mono.
