The saavys are a completely different rod than the champion. They arent my favorite but for anything other than bottom contact they are great rods.

I'm away at school but every year when it starts to warm up I know people are going to die or at least get shot. It does not bother me at all anymore. If they want to shoot and kill themselves go ahead, I do not need them in my life. I do not have any pity for people that do or sell drugs .

Use an extra fast rod. Lost 6 fish today using an ewg shakey head with a fast action rod. Regular straight shank hooks arent a problem with a fast action rod but the EWG just dont set correctly without an extra fast.

12lb invizx or 10lb. If the bait is really slow and clear water 8lb invizx. BB1 pro is a great reel.

im not a mechanic or metal worker but common sense tells me that your weakest point is going to be right at that weld. Especially with the weight of the boat on it. I would add a larger diameter pipe to slide over the weld and join the two pieces.

I've only had a problem with one crankbait setup with 10lb fluorocarbon and I blame the line. I dont think it is necessary to throw crankbaits on braid. If you are worried about losing baits spend $10 and make a lure knocker.

I hate foam handles on my rods so I wouldnt get a cumara.

Im not 100% sold on the elite tech spinning reels. I like having a really lose grip on my reel and rod when fishing and the elite tech fits in my palm.

Looking to get a new spinning combo for shakey heads and wacky rigs. What do you guys suggest I get? It can be any fenwick, dobyns, abu garcia, or falcon rod and any lews,abu,pflueger reel. I want to see what you guys come up with.

The small mouth rod fills your palm. If you like that then I would get it. IMO I love my aetos spinning rod and it is worth the money.

Had the same problem on table rock last year. Had to run the boat by gps and our previous track to know our lower unit and entire boat wouldnt get destroyed

I've caught pigs on the newer baits so I really think it is a mentality thing. The rapala scatterbaits are literally designed to do what an old wiggle wart would do yet they havent gained popularity.

The hooks on the xd series are solid for the average angler. The hooks on the 1.5 sized baits are awful and should be changed.

IVe got a crazy video of my friend spearing a wave on kentucky lake in a 17ft boat. It came completely out of nowhere.

Last weekend we had a pretty rough tournament on the ozarks and had a few funny close calls. At the end of day two we decided to get up and run back to the launch early. We didnt notice the trolling motor was still down and took off on plane. Once we did we were getting splashed pretty bad and I came off plane resulting in the motor splashing down and drenching us. Not only that but the wave behind us splashed over the back and hit us from behind. Because it was a short run we had previously taken off our save phaces and we were soaked from head to toe. Glad I had my bibs on to stay dry. What is your funniest or worst boating close call?

My buddy just got an 06 stratos with an 06 150hp yahmaha vmax hdpi on the back. Great motor and runs awesome. I wouldnt be hesitant to buy a vmax after running his boat all week full throttle.

Also a heads up. Our High School tournament has a field of 75 boats and is completely full. It is this weekend Sunday, April 6th on Clinton Lake. This tournament is going to be huge and the prizes even bigger. Thanks for the support guys!!

Since I am a flashlight nerd I suggest you visit http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/content.php and see what they recommend. I personally use an older halogen model on our pontoon boat that gets around 15mil candle power. Actually got the older model of this one for $20 new ( http://www.gemplers.com/product/172478/Handheld-Spotlight-Thor-X-Colossus#TAB-REVIEWS) I can hit over 4 city blocks. I have a quark aa2 turbo (https://www.foursevens.com/products/flashlights/Turbo ) that has 246 lumens and is more than enough to light my way. I also have a zebralight h51 headlamp to use in the morning to load the boat etc. Buy the best flashlight you can afford. My quark is water proof and pretty d**n strong, I'm never worried about it breaking.

I love my full grip 735c. I would buy a split grip in a heart beat though.

Two is perfect for what you fish ( i fish the same stuff) three is better for the weed choked wisconsin lakes.
