What A Drag
I've never done that but I have forget to reset my drag after catching a 5lb smallie a few months ago. She fought like a tank and I was gentle because she seemed like she was heading up to spawn. After I let her go we moved down the bank and I flipped under a dock a hooked into a 2lb smallie and I almost fell out of the boat because my rod kept traveling upward. My friend had a good laugh and I looked like a goof doing a double hookset but it was funny at the time.

Co-Angler Étiquette (Myth)
Coming from the collegiate club side of the co-angler dilemma there is something to say about the inner club relationships and the club as a whole. I know that there are tons of problems between big name clubs that most of you guys are involved in. It takes a ton of money to simply compete across the country and I couldnt imagine doing it with someone that didnt help foot the bill. I developed many great relationships in my club simply because I associated myself with the guys that would go 50/50 or 75/25 depending on the tournament. I am a coangler but I am not afraid to put in gas money or pay for other expenses. If I chose to fish LOZ for a week I dont except my boater to pay the entire gas bill on a 350 mile trip. I fill a tank of gas then he does the same. If we dont burn it all I simply subtract the gas he as left with what I owe for boat gas. As a team we work together and determine our runs and both make the decision to stay close to the ramp or run miles up the lake. This is completely different than fishing a BFL or similar tournament where your boater changes from day to day. I can see tossing him some money but without developing that relationship before you hit the ramp you're stuck in an awkward position. Do you offer to pay for part of what was burned up or is $50 enough? I've fished many tournaments where we had to refuel mid tournament and the expenses don't necessarily mean we caught more fish. There is a huge gamble when making these decisions and in the context of a BFL that choice normally isnt the co-anglers. There isn't a single person that fishes tournaments because theyre cheap. When you get into the sport side of things you have to expect expenses on both parts of the boat deck. When I finally pick up my boat I doubt I will go out as a boater for anything big because I'm simply not good enough. I will boat for high school kids and do what to get more involved in bringing more people into the sport. I'll much rather spend $500 on that than $1,500 to get my butt kicked by guys 10x better than me. I guess I went on a little rant but o well.

How To Approach A Storm Coming
I fish hard and fast and get everything ready to move. Strap things down and get ready to make a quick run. Lightening can hit from miles away so if I see it in the distance ill pull off. Ive had some of my best days during/ before storms.

Where are all the Illinois Guys ?
Trip from this past week up to northern wisconsin. We caught a ton of fish and were conscious of taking pictures and releasing the fish quickly. Every fish on or near a bed was netted with an ego pro slider with rubber mesh and released in under a minute. The reason you dont see a 5 fish stringer of 25lb is because they are protected during the spawn and we didnt want to keep them out of the water more than necessary. I have more pictures but they are too big for the uploader to process.

6:4:1 Gear Ratio.....ugh?!!!
Always follow up a topwater strike with a soft plastic. I turn most of my missed strikes into landed fish this way. Also to anyone saying high speed reels arent necessary go fish small mouth on a 5:4 ratio when they pick up and run with it. You'll wish you had the 7:1 or even 8:1 to catch up to them.

Swiming A Senko
fished the same front as you up in wisconsin. Always tie on a shakey head post frontal, thats how we caught all of our fish. T

Boat Rebuild?
My friends dad got a similiar boat for free as a project boat and has dumped 1,500 into it so far. He wanted to spend 700 but he likes to do things correctly. At any rate he has about 5 days into the boat and its practically done. From a complete deconstruction to an entire rebuild of the flooring, rod locker, electronics, new seats with pedestals, front deck, etc etc. He even put in cupholders and new nav lights. The best way to do it is to take pictures and take the entire thing apart. Drill out the rivets and pull out the unnecessary stuff. Just use underflooring plywood ( used for under hard wood flooring) and coat it in polyurethane. Marine grade is the same **** just laminated differently and the price increased because it says marine.

How Many Bass Should I Stock My Pond With?
Yeah but if the bass east all the bluegill then your bass become stunted because they eventually have nothing to feed on. Ponds are a delicate balance, my friend has a 6 acre lake pond thing and we can catch 180 bass in a day but most are under a pound. But there are some 7lb+ fish mixed in.

Choice Of 2 Days
Just caught 27 fish from 5pm-8pm biggest was a 4lb smallie all the rest were 2-3lb largemouth. It was on fire and the bite was stupid easy. I loved that but what I loved more was catching 23 smallies the next day biggest 5 went 25lb+. Id rather have a day of catching the smallies we did than a bunch of big largemouth, sure theyre big but they just dont have the same fight as a smallmouth.

Best Bass Lure
wacky rigged (insert favorite stickbait here) is probably the easiest lure to catch fish on besides a shakey head. Both work nearly all year round.

How Many Bass Should I Stock My Pond With?
Id say make sure you have a bunch of bait fish in there. Something that doesnt get too big. If you happen to have a ton of small bluegill you may need to take some of them out and stock more feed sized bluegill. The bass need something to eat and hopefully the winter wont be too bad on them. Im not the pond master, I would consult the pond boss forums for this.

Where To Find Front Deck Sizes?
Thanks, my friend is looking at a 2013 triton and felt that it looked cramped. I thought he was insane to consider the nitro over the triton but that's his choice.

Where To Find Front Deck Sizes?
Looking to compare the size of the front deck on a few boats. Mainly the Ranger z520, nitro z8, triton t21hp. I looked around and coudnt find the square footage.
