  1. Just felt the brand new dobyns 806 cb and trust me that is a crankbait rod through and through. Its got the same diameter of a crankbait rod but enough power to cast a 10xd. If I threw a 10xd I would buy it in a heart beat. Instead i am buying the 765cb glass.
  2. 2014- May have been won on the dt but mueller caught his sack on a chatterbait supposedly. He would have won with a better day 1 total
  3. Nephew of an electrician chiming in here. Always run extra wires. I would rather have an extra wire to rewire something down the road or add something rather than having to pull something through the hard way. Even if you dont use that wire you can always use it to pull other ones through. Also check for rough spots on the trailer tubes. I wouldnt want to pull wire and risk putting a tear in it.
  4. The luck e strike rick clunn baits are pretty sweet, same with the spro squarebills. My favorite are spro but I do have more 1.5s.
  5. Yeah thats true. Just makes it less of a target than the 100 other boats I guess. Also wanted it for quick pit stops on the road/ lunch and stuff
  6. Sunline is thinner than conventional mono. Looking it up Ill get around 100yards. Idk if that is too little line on the reel for chunking that thing and fishing it deep.
  7. I'm not sure. We have a few schools that fish from that area. Some schools also register without names until tournament day so its tough to keep a running list.
  8. Thinking about using my tatula instead of my revo winch for my a-rigs this season. Does anyone know if the tatula can fit enough braided line for an a-rig? I dont remember how much line I spooled out in the past. I would rather not take the line off of my winch.
  9. The boxes would be locked and the bar would be a deterrent. I may not even need to do it, I can run it by him and he may do it himself. I am just getting him some ideas.
  10. zoom super chunk jrs are what you should buy for cold water.
  11. The contour lines have now changed. You bass sitting in 10ft of water may not be sitting in 2 foot because the water went up.
  12. The color doesn't matter if you fish the bait wrong.
  13. Are there any alternatives to the lock-r-bar? It seems like a fairly simply product that could be made for less than its $200 cost. Im fishing as a coangler out of my friends boat for a week and since it's new and he has less tackle than me I may just leave some stuff in there. Id rather have it all locked up.
  14. ill check the bucoo. For $20 ill get a new rod lol
  15. With all the grass it would be stupid to not fish a chatterbait. Awesome baits and simply catch fish. Ignore the orginal zman they break. Go with the D&m version.
  16. Dobyns. Fought a 25lb+ asian carp on mine and it didnt break even with all the pressure the fish put on it. Perfectly balance, great rods.
  17. A nice rod that is under 7ft. Generally 6'6" or smaller. Medium Xtra fast or just Medium fast. Some people use MH xf I am not one of those people. 10# and smaller line. A rod that is 66mf can be used for jerkbaits and small crankbaits if you cannt justify buying a 100% dedicated jerkbait rod.

Buying 30+ jigs from the owner of Custom Cast jigs. Great products and great owner. They can be found at presely outdoors, prairie outfitters bedford sales, and even that dreadful T W website LOL.
  19. Came here to say the same thing. "At no time shall a competitor have in his or her possession more than the tournament limit. If a competitor determines he is over the limit, he must immediately reduce his catch to the tournament limit with a live bass of his choice from his catch. Each returned bass will result in a 2-pound penalty to be deducted from his daily score. "
  20. If you're going to spend the money on fishing glasses go costa.
  21. As you all know last November Washington IL and many other parts of Illinois were devastated by a series of tornados. Don Barone and Tackle the Storm is hosting an event on April 13th to give back to the area. My club is going to be there volunteering and we hope to see everyone out there. Please go ahead and like the page and spread awareness for the event. This is a great cause and I am glad we get to be a part of it. https://www.facebook.com/tacklethestormIllinois http://www.bassmaster.com/news/illini-bass-fishing-club-helping-out-after-area-tornadoes http://www.fightingillinibassclub.com/
  22. Nickname from my grandpa and dad that stuck forever.
  23. If our club could host more high school opens in different states we would. We're a collegiate bass fishing club so it isn't the easiest thing to do. Thank you for the support! Check us out on Facebook and twitter, both links are available through the link above.
