  1. Where I come from we have more of the Ike Con worms than anything else. I havent used them in years though. My buddy buys them just for the scent.
  2. If Danica delivered it would never get there.

Safe to say 3/0 gets most texas rig applications done.
  4. I might not go to schaumburg because i will be back at school for only a week. I have a booth at tinley that ill be at and IMO tinley is a better show for the all around fishing experience (bass, panfish, musky etc ) and schaumburg for the big brands, tank demos , full lineup of boats etc. Tinley has the personal touch that Rosemont had in the early 2000's.
  5. Most tv fishing series are awful. I would much rather buy major league fishing and watch bassmaster videos. I wish *** did full length vidoes of a lot of the techniques they show.
  6. The mac adapter is in one of the links in my post lol. Also I wouldnt use my work laptop for anything personal its not smart.
  7. Note to self: fake injury get bass boat
  8. Buy it. I plan on buying another this coming spring.
  9. What about with crankbaits? I throw all of mine on straight fluor0carbon but wouldnt a leader prevent it from getting down far enough?
  10. Nothing worth the drive IMO. Clinton is good if you have a boat and can fish it.
  11. Alright guys I guess I have to step in and save all of you a ton of money. Just go to http://www.monoprice.com/ and buy a full length hdmi cord for $6 and plug your laptop in that way. Have a mac? http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=104&cp_id=10428&cs_id=1042802&p_id=5311&seq=1&format=2 Sure you can do the streaming route which is nice in some cases. But doing it my way allows you to use it in any room in the house. Im not sure about the Roku but I can put anything from my laptop onto my tv without paying any subscriptions. Im not going to get into torrenting or watching movies online everyone here can make their own judgement call on that. I saved upwards of $500 the past few years buying cables from them rather than best buy or different premium audio stores.
  12. Better yet let me borrow it for a week...
  13. True that. How is homer lake for bank fishing? Ive never fished it but a bunch of my friends have.
  14. I would say 500 billion metric F tons of asian carp. Fishing a chatter bait over what i thought was a lay down or rock. Turns out it was a big carp that I snagged.
  15. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2a2wEMeKJ7g Totally unrelated but I thought of you when I saw this.
  16. Going to turn it into a lure retriever handle when I get a chance.
  17. I cast past a gravel point into deep water and dag it over shallow water and back into deep water. I also fish it around docks from the back to the front. If there is any type of rip rap I will cast towards it and fish back to the boat. There is no bad way to fish a shakey head unless you fish it like a vertical jig or rip it like a ratl trap.
  18. Is anyone headed to any of the fishing shows this coming week. There is a show in schaumburg, rosemont and another in Tinley park in February. Interested to see if anyone is going to any of these shows. Heck post up other states if you wish. I may be back in time for the Schaumburg show not sure.
  19. The rod matters a lot more than the reel as said before. I dont have any ml bait casting rods but I have toyed around with getting one. Im going to buy a new jerkbait rod before that happens though.
  20. Get yourself a 7ft MH Fast Rod and a 5:4 gear ratio reel. Put the 6:4 ratio on the MH and take the new 5:4 and put it on the 7ft medium vendetta. That way you have a dedicated crankbait combo, spinnerbait/ jig combo and a heavy frog/jig combo.
  21. Wading into the river is pretty fun. I was kind of afraid that I might get swept away in a huge current though.
  22. Ive met some lifelong friends through my college bass fishing team but also in my neighborhood. My friends arent as deep into fish as I am but if they arent working and want to fish I can always get them to commit. There is nothing better than getting out on the water and fishing. As much as fishing has helped me build relationships it also helps me maintain them. My girlfriend knows that my outlet is to go fishing for a few hours so she understands if I fall of the face of the earth for those few hours. I can get her out fishing with me which is a plus but she isnt into as much as she is camping or other outdoors activities. The thing I love about fishing is that at 20 years old almost 21 and I have family friends that know I compete on a collegiate level and their kids want to go out fishing with me. Knowing that an 8th grader is wiling to learn really blows my mind but I enjoy it. I would say my best experience with fishing was working in a bait shop and watching the bond that formed with kids/grandkids and parents/grandparents at 530-6am getting bait to go out fishing. We sit here talking about fishing on another level beyond your typical shore fishermen and yet I have seen more joy in 3 generations of a family that still go out fishing together than I have most competing anglers. My brother enjoys fishing simply because he caught a 3lb smallie his first time actually fishing.
